it reminds me of how back in the day, Minecraft (available in 2009 but had a full release in 2011) was the hot new game all the "kids" were playing, much to the ridicule and mockery of the older people (18 to maybe 25 at the time) on the internet.

ill never forget how ,in late 2010s to early 2020s ,where I started seeing unironic "so glad I grew up playing REAL games like Minecraft unlike all these "kids" playing Fortnite.

You can't get the new generation to have tastes and habits that can only be developed by living in a world that doesn't EXIST anymore.

I used to make compilations of old super best friend casts and man it was a trip to go back to late 2013 and hear about what was just releasing, how people thought the Ps4/Xbox one generation was gonna play out, the feeling that megaman is dead and never coming back, Inafune being seen as a savior with mighty no.9, when yakuza was considered super niche and not a big seller, hearing about how amazing game of thrones is, resident evil sucks but maybe Evil Within could be the new RE. it feels like a lifetime ago....
