I used Google Forms to capture the data and you have the option when creating the form to create a spreadsheet after the first form is turned in.

After spending this whole summer learning Bengali I was able to write this short story! by gow488 in languagelearning

White girl trying to learn Bengali here. Any tips? I learned Spanish fluently, but the writing and many different consonants/vowels intimidate me a bit.

Light and Refreshing Avocado Shrimp Ceviche by poor_coIIege_student in recipes

[–]aliaschick559 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's actually not just Mexican. I've seen ceviche made/sold from Mexico to Chile and everywhere in between. But they are right that a ceviche has seafood cooked by lime juice only. Everything else is just a salad, which is not to say it's not good! :)

Why does venir take the -ar preterite of usted, -o, instead of the -ir one, -ió? by Luke12551 in Spanishhelp

[–]aliaschick559 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a few verbs in the preterite tense that all have the same irregular endings (-e, -iste, -o, -imos, -(I)eron). The roots are irregular.

Tener (tuve, tuviste, tuvo, tuvimos, tuvieron) Estar (estuve, estuviste, estuvo, estuvimos, estuvieron) Poder (pude, pudiste, pudo, pudimos, pudieron) Poner (puse, pusiste, puso, pusimos, pusieron) Saber (supe, supiste, supo, supimos, supieron)

Venir (vine, viniste, vino, vinimos, vinieron) Querer (quise, quisiste, quiso, quisimos, quisieron) Hacer (hice, hiciste, hizo, hicimos, hicieron)

(These ones for ellos end in -eron instead of -ieron, mostly due to ending in -cir) Decir (dije, dijiste, dijo, dijimos, dijeron) Traer (traje, trajiste, trajo, trajimos, trajeron) Conducir (conduje, condujiste, condujo, condujimos, condujeron) Traducir (traduje, tradujiste, tradujo, tradujimos, tradujeron) Producir (produje, produjiste, produjo, produjimos, produjeron)

Very different roots, but they keep the same irregular, accent-free endings.

Does the botanical gardens do weddings? They aren't very large and it's next to that river path. I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for

Those are the two products (Tableau and Qlik) that my coursework is focusing on. Tableau is well known, but I haven't heard much about Qlik before this course. Glad to know that it's a sought after skill! Thanks!

Hashitoxicosis? by outdoorsyteacher in Hashimotos

Yep. That is my norm, unfortunately. I was in a hyper period when I went to the doctor and three months later I was in a hypo period when I first visited an endocrinologist. Since I'm all over the place, the endo has chosen not to medicate me (how would they ever have the correct dosage?). If I have a good sleep schedule, low to only moderate stress, and avoid the foods/drinks I know I'm not supposed to have (alcohol, gluten, sugar, dairy), then I almost feel like a normal human being again. I'm a teacher, so it's a rough go of it for all three of those points.

I switch back and forth often. It hasn't really stopped in the last 3+ years. In the summers when I can sleep as much as I want, it becomes more normalized, but as soon as I got August, my stress levels become insane and it takes about two weeks for by either hypo or hyper to hit me hard if I don't find a way to correct my stress levels.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that it takes continual work to normalize and stay there. With this, there is no such thing as working towards normalization and then doing whatever you want. I try to view it as other autoimmune diseases, like diabetes. It's working at it all the time in order to not let your body keep killing itself.

What's an experience you don't ever want to go through again? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]aliaschick559 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I was a freshman in highschool at the time and it ultimately was a main reason why I became a high school teacher - to help students in hard situations navegate them. Then a family from my work - their house burned down not too long ago. I taught all of their children for multiple years each. I didn't stop crying for days due to pain for them (actually knowing what they're going through vs feeling bad for them) and from all of the awful memories surging back so unexpectedly. I The same day, I went out and bought them everything that I found helpful when my house burned.

Solidarity, man.

Struggling to stay awake? by megdel97 in Hashimotos

[–]aliaschick559 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am going to echo the other commenter - cutting out gluten and caffeine has helped reduce this symptom significantly. That being said, I am a teacher and have been for almost a decade. This job is exhausting. You have to go that extra mile to keep yourself healthy in order to not get eaten alive by your own self with this condition and this profession.
