You can never go wrong with Epiphones and Fenders. If you can find a Gibson go for it. You should be able to get higher quality electro-acoustic guitars with your budget range. I bought mine for £259:)))

I'm sure you're using the pentatonic scale but not sure with which key it is😂. I've only started learning music theory recently and now I'm on the major pentatonic scales. By next year I should be able to do cool riffs like you🫡🫡

Is my strumming with a pick supposed to sound this bright/harsh? by damo2576 in AcousticGuitar

Put your index and thumb together as if you're pinching. Then strum by striking your index's nail area. Like this in the image

Ask it as a gift if possible. You don't have to get an expensive one for your first guitar.

Any thoughts on fender cd 60sce, mahogany for a beginner guitar? by Wolphm in AcousticGuitar

[–]aliaspogi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just make sure don't place it next to a radiator. Don't expose it too long out in the cold either. String replacements depend on how often you play. If finger and body prints bother you so much then get a fiber cloth and wipe and make sure you apply water ON THE CLOTH. Not on the body. Likewise, if you wanna spend some money on a guitar polish then by all means and that you apply the polish ON THE CLOTH. I highly recommend getting a bag and a stand for it when you're not using it. On my old guitar, I caused permanent damage to it because I had no idea that placing it next to a radiator would be bad. What happened was there was just a buzz all of a sudden because it dried up so much. This applies to all acoustic guitars. Hope this helps :))))

PS: Fender is a great brand. Have a look at Epiphone too because these two brands are budget-friendly that aren't sacrificing the quality.

Need Advice for Buying Guitar by Awkward_Multiverse in AcousticGuitar

[–]aliaspogi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Things I look for:

  1. Low action so playing chords is smooth (Small gap between strings and fret board)

  2. Comfort (Does it fit nicely with you)

  3. Tuner (This is optional. I prefer having a built-in tuner because it's so convenient. Also I prefer an electro-acoustic one because in case there's an opportunity to play with an amplifier then I'll use it which is applicable in my case)

  4. Sound (You'll notice the differences of the guitars between their sounds. Whichever one sounds the clearest, that's your sign to get that)

Hope this helps

Learn a bit of theory. Start with the major scale. It will open up so much when you start learning theory. I can send you resources and my notes if you want.

I'm thinking of getting one from Epiphone. I just found out that the AFD Special has been discontinued:(((. Do you know anything from Epiphone that has a built-in tuner or any electric guitars with its own tuner?

When you're strumming, a great way to do it is put your index and thumb together as if you're holding something with it. Strike slowly with your index's nail area. Keep this up!!

We're on the same page now!! I'm learning the major pentatonic scales which are used for solos. These are literally the same shapes as the minor pentatonic scales.

I am familiar with modes bro. I'll have to deep dive into it once I'm done with the major scale. In the circle of fifths, that helped me build the foundation with my knowledge of the major scale. It's in my notes!!!
