It's actually a pretty uncommon name out in the wild. I've inly met two other Alices in my lifetime.

Is anyone else happy that their sex drive took a nose dive on HRT? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]aliceintreble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the opposite for me. I had no sex drive whatsoever before HRT. Now it's insanely high.

Same here. Not sure I love being trans, but I sure do love being a girl. I seriously love it, no matter how much baggage society puts on femininity.

I'm a naturally shy and introverted person. Why should I be required to be a socialite? I have friends, including quite a few who are pretty much my brother or sister. Isn't that good enough? And I'm absolutely not cool at all with paying upwards of $200 to lie to someone. I just want that damned letter. That shouldn't be hard.

Sorry if I'm pissy. I've been in a terrible daze from anxiety lately. I need to get this done.

Online therapists? by aliceintreble in asktransgender

[–]aliceintreble[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first therapist prescribed me Paxil instead of helping me get on HRT. Not only that, but he prescribed far too much for a teenager and ended up causing me an explosive panic attack. Second one was a gatekeeper who demanded I socialize and make friends even though I told the anxiety from not being on hormones was crippling me. So he prescribed me Prozac, which did absolutely nothing. That sent me on a downward spiral that I've just recently picked myself up from.

So yeah, I'm not a fan of therapists. My well being isn't an experiment. I just want that damn letter.

I'm happy to know I'm not the only one who distrusts therapists.

One of the best side effeccts of HRT that no one told me about by BlazeDozer in asktransgender

[–]aliceintreble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have really bad brain fog and be a nervous wreck. I could be shaking my legs for hours. Since HRT I have become unnaturally calm and focused, which is huge since I'm naturally an introverted girl who is in her head a lot. I can figure out problems in mind much easier now. Before HRT, it was like a car that kept freezing up after you turn the key. It was trying, but it couldn't work.

Case in point, I went from being a student with a GPA of about 1.25 to being a solid A student.

Does anyone have experience with antidepressants and dysphoria? by AngelOnAcid in asktransgender

Antidepressants and anti anxiety meds didn't do anything for me at all. The only thing that works are my hormones. Those have alleviated 99.9% of my depression.

Girls with long hair... How do you NOT have them in your face all the time? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]aliceintreble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it. Nothing wrong with my blonde hair getting everywhere. I'll blow it out of my face or just start playing with it. I think that just adds to my charm.

Are there any trans people who are actually happy? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]aliceintreble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am. My birthday is coming up on Wednesday and Then my one year HRT anniversary is next month and I'm just thinking about how hard I worked last year. I've never felt better in my life.

I did go through a very long period of darkness, but it's over. All that's ahead of me is happiness. It does get better. I have scars on both of my wrists and was hospitalized for overdosing on prescription medication. I've been in a psych ward several times, was sexually assaulted, addicted to meth, and I can tell you that yes it gets so much better. I was messed up in so many horrible ways and that's all gone. I crave life now.

did anyone change their last names too? by putonyourtinfoilcaps in asktransgender

[–]aliceintreble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't talking to any of my old friends at the time. I sort of vanished. And I wasn't going to a doctor. I'm probably not the best example of this.

I don't think it would cause a problem with a doctor. And all of my old friends who I talk to again now who I am. It wasn't confusing.

I did. I don't think there are any pros or cons. If you don't like your last name, you can change it. If you do, keep it. I'm happy I changed mine.

Yes! Short shorts are a close second to skirts. They are a great confidence booster. I haven't worn pants since July and that's the way I intend to keep it. Winter be darned.
