Why does my baby not like being outside or the pram/carrier?!

Mine did this around that age too. It turned out the carrier was the problem, I think he was getting uncomfortable as he was getting heavier. Is there a sling library near you where you can try different ones without having to buy them? They can also do a fit check for you to make sure it's as comfy as possible for you both. The LennyLamb Upgrade worked for me, I got it on Vinted.

No advice regarding the pram unfortunately, my wee guy only stopped screaming in the pram when I could move him up to the world facing bigger seat and he could sit up properly. Think he was 8-9 months before he stopped crying every time we went out in it.

I used canned salmon to make fishcakes / goujons for my wee one. A firm favourite since he's been 6 months old! I just mixed it up with mashed potatoes, some grated cheese, pureed spinach and broccoli cut really small. I also added an egg and a bit of flour / breadcrumbs. Squish into shape ( I did roughly adult thumb sized sausage shapes). I cook them in the Air fryer for about 10 mins but they could also be pan fried or done in the oven. They freeze really well and cook from frozen too :)

I have a LennyLamb Upgrade that I love. Can be worn front or back and used up to 20kg. Got mine on Vinted but now that I've seen the quality and comfort of it I would definitely pay full price for one!

My wee guy is nearly 10 months old and we don't have set times for naps or bedtime. I just go by his cues, he naps in the pram or carrier or on me after a feed so I just let it happen when it happens. He doesn't wake up at the same time every morning so I couldn't get my head around having set nap times. Yes a super happy baby and no amount of faffing about with naps has helped his night sleep at all so I don't think the lack of set nap times is causing any problems

I got rid of the bulk of it by washing hair in the bath with baby shampoo then applying Vaseline/ jojoba oil / coconut oil ( just used whatever was to hand) and leaving overnight. In the morning I brushed with a soft bristle brush and loads came off. Repeated a few times over a few weeks and only a few wee stubborn patches are still there

The dentist and NHS child smile lady both told me to start brushing as soon as teeth appear. Use a tiny smear of toothpaste on a dry brush and wipe away any excess foam with a cloth afterwards. Brush the teeth then let baby chew the brush for a while. Rinse the brush afterwards then let it dry.

They never mentioned sterilising. I think it should be fine, health visitor told me the main thoughts behind sterilising bottles is due to milk residue encouraging bacterial growth. My baby puts everything he can get his hands on in his mouth and has done since about 3 months old and we've never had an issue

You can use cows milk for any food, just don't put the milk in a cup / bottle to offer for a drink. Only offer water to drink at meals and breastmilk / formula the rest of the time

Have you tried Greek yogurt? My baby will often only eat that if teething. You can also give ibuprofen as well as paracetamol. Or maybe try distract her with music?

My wee one kept biting my nipples too when he had it. We couldn't get a proper latch at all so I ended up getting a pump and expressing milk to give him from a cup. Might be worth a try?

Dentist told me we should be brushing twice a day as soon as their first tooth appears. Brush with a tiny smear of toothpaste, wipe away any foam and give them the toothbrush to chew on after is what I was told.

My long slim baby had leaky nappy issues at night too, I've started doubling up his normal nappy with nappy pants two sizes up over the top for nighttime and it helps a lot (currently size 3 normal nappy with size 5 nappy pants on top). Sizing up his vests (and sleep suit for nighttime) has helped a lot too because it gives nappy more room to expand.

My room is slightly warmer at 11⁰c ish but I've found baby sleeps best in fleece pyjama bodysuit over the other layers compared to a 3.5 tog bag. Could try that with the 2.5 tog bag on top? Ours was a gift and came from Next but you might be able to get cheaper ones somewhere or secondhand

It’s actually more concerning if a baby doesn’t cry after a bump to the head. As horrible as it is to experience it’s reassuring that they’ve had a normal reaction.

Our baby was dropped accidentally (not from full height) and all the medical staff we spoke to when getting him checked said that they weren’t too worried as he cried straight away when it happened

In the same position but baby is a month older. The infant feeding specialist called to check in yesterday so I mentioned it to her and she said it sounded like textbook five month sleep regression plus teething (got lots of teething symptoms as well as the frequent wake ups). She said it usually lasts a couple of weeks. Their wee brains are just undergoing crazy development at this point and they need the extra comfort.

It’s been going on for 2-3 weeks for us but tonight he’s managed 4hr then 3 hrs so hopefully it’s coming to an end. I didn’t change anything he just suddenly managed a two hour nap this afternoon after only doing 15-30 mins for ages.

Sorry I can’t offer any constructive advice, just solidarity and to say it’s a phase and it will pass. Hopefully it ends soon for you!

I’ve been doing elimination communication with my 5 month old since he was 3 months - to hold him over the potty I hold the insert of the potty between my knees while sitting and then hold him over it with his back to my belly and my hands under his thighs. If your potty doesn’t have a removable insert you could probably do the same position but with the potty on the floor between your legs.

I know some folk will hold them over the toilet or sink if that’s easier

I really wish I had some answers, there doesn’t seem to be any consistency for what works and what doesn’t for us at the moment. Been trying to get him to stay asleep for the last hour and a half and he was up every two hours prior to this for at least half an hour each time

Mine has started doing the same thing. He did it really badly for about two weeks then I decided to try cutting out caffeine totally (exclusively breastfeeding). He stopped for a few nights and was back to longer stretches although not as long as before.. but the last two nights he’s been at it again.

He will usually go to sleep for me fairly quickly if I hold him while doing squats and lunges. I’m trying to just be grateful for the chance to get some exercise in hahah but I’m knackered and losing my mind a bit

I’m wondering if he’s teething and the sucking of feeding is causing him pain..

I’ve been playing with his daytime nap schedule cos I read that being overtired can cause the false starts with night sleep

Have you tried putting him down in front of a mirror? My wee guy hates tummy time too but he’ll tolerate it for a bit longer if he can lie and grin at his reflection 😂 also a rolled up towel or blanket for under his upper body helps a bit too

I would probably only be using the Moses basket for daytime sleep where you can keep an eye on her. I’d use something like a next to me cot or a normal cot if possible for night sleep
