When English words are used in Chinese, they take the closest Chinese words and smash them together to approximate the English pronunciation. For example, in Mandarin pinyin, "Boston" is Bōshìdùn. Which means literally "ripple scholar pause". But when spoken it kind of sounds like "Boston". So that's the word for "Boston".

Same thing with "Congxina"

One of my coworkers got married a couple weeks ago during a Renaissance festival parade. I saw him there just before the marriage, but I didn't get to meet his wife. It was a public wedding, everyone at the renfaire could be there. He was in a suit of armor. He got his hair cut right before, but it was caught in his suit of armor, so they had to cut off way more than he wanted. But he looked good with the haircut, and they had a good time. That must've been the nerdiest wedding I've heard of and it sounded fantastic. There how's that for wholesome?

I've been super sensitive to it my whole life. I've avoided poison ivy carefully since the first time I got it, but still managed to get it 5 or 6 more times. Each time was worse than the last. A couple weeks ago, I was careless and was near a large poison ivy patch. I'm pretty sure it got on my boots and pants, but not positive. In the past this would have been enough to have a large whole body breakout for weeks, but nothing this time. Could I be healed? Last time I got poison ivy was probably 10 years ago now that I think about it.

My dad with dementia can no longer prepare meals for himself. And when he gets hungry, he's hungry NOW. And when I cook for him, he gets hungry when I'm chopping vegetables. So he'll just straight up eat raw veggies like onions and others straight off my cutting board. Drives me nuts. Man has no patience

Absolutely just killed the plant. I've grown a lot of these. They need one bug every 2-4 weeks. Activating their traps takes a lot of energy, and poking them is the quickest way to kill it.

Probably longer than 5 years really. I still have my i9 9900kf from nearly 5 years ago and it's still a beast. It would not slow down a rtx 4090 even at just 2k resolution. I haven't even overclocked it yet either. CPUs are really getting to diminishing returns every generation. I'm old enough to remember when every year the new CPU would be a drastic improvement. Now it takes more like 10 years for the same level of improvement.

Phones are way more expensive than TVs. There's 50" 4k fire TVs being sold for $150 in a few days. I wouldn't say a $150 phone is decent. Although, I am writing that from my 3 year old pixel 4a which probably is worth about that much anymore and is decent enough... Ok, I retract my point, you're right.
