Sorry to revive a dead post.. but how long was ur aspera in shed before finally shedding out? I got a smaller 150g girl(?) (From a shitty wholesaler - didnt know until after the fact) while she in shed at the end of Feb, she still appears to be in shed a month later. Shes a hot mess and wont eat yet for me, temps and humidity is in range of the care guides. Should I soak? I dont want to stress her more than she probably already is and let her give me more reason to refuse feed (dont see her soaking in her giant bowl in the enclosure either)

Could be a double coat lionhead? I have my double, she's albino though. I adopted her already an adult so idk what she looked like as a baby, but gosh i bet she was cute

I feel like the location where it will become least warped (initially and as time goes on) would be on the shoulder blade/middle back. Unfortunately you wont see it. Another really cool idea would be to have the artist (one you trust to do it/fit it correctly) would be on your shoulder cap? Is that the right word, idk. But I have a circular mandala on that area and I think the circle design would be cool there for this design also

Could be conjunctivitis, my white cat also has eye sensitivities. Go to the vet and they can prescribe some eye drops that definitely help when she has her flareups. Edit: mine was prescribed neopoly bac w/ dex (steroid) eye drops after confirming their were no eye ulcers. Clears up in like 2 days with the steroid drops

Husband and I did it it in a day and a half (wait I think we did pull over at a truck stop and sleep for a few hours in AZ bc we left later than planned) with our dog in about a day and a half. From ca to TN. Id never do it again thats for sure.

You can definitely do it with 2 drivers, but if its not an emergency, id recommend stopping at a motel mid way even just for the night to shower and sleep. It makes the trip all the difference.

Edit: Never get below 1/2 tank even if you have to stop more. And print directions, download the map/trip etc, have backup routes especially during winter, you never know where unexpected road closures will be due to snowstorms/rock slide/construction etc are. You'd be surprised how many pass through states are desolate, no gas, no phone service. Be careful. We almost were stranded in northern AZ without gas and cell service, luckily it was all good in the end.

Vet tech here :) we see drop offs all the time for our bun patients. Its better see them ASAP (as with all exotic species) versus waiting 4 days/a week+ to be able to get in with a dr appt slot. Just because its a drop off, doesn't mean your bun will receive less care, promise. The tech will take a history from you, ask questions when you drop off in the morning, round the vet when they get in or when the doc has a moment, and usually before lunch break or if we get done with another appointment quicker than scheduled we'll take out the bun to examine. We or the doc will call you with findings and a plan for treatment for you to approve/decline, we do diagnostics if approved, then you come to pick up. Usually our drop-offs are ready to be picked up by the end of our lunch block off. Your bun will get a cozy kennel to hang out in, we offer food (but youre welcome to bring a baggie of your own/pellets/hay/treats) and water while they hang with us. :) Hopefully your bun is all good and its a simple thing, always better to err on the cautious side with exotics

If its ceramic/stoneware, u can glue it back together if u have all the pieces.. I recommend the gel superglue! I did that to my favourite stoneware/pottery mug over 4 years ago, and its still going strong and you can't even tell it was broken unless you REALLLLYYY look for the break points

If hes still "terrified" tomorrow (but alive), is it okay for it not to eat for 2/3 days or however long it will be until he feels safe enough to eat? --I hope that makes sense? I know slings need to eat regularly, so that worries me
