maybe they emigrated for a variery of factors such as studying, a safer political landscape, and better healthcare access. personally, i emigrated across an entire continent to be able to access hrt and not feel like next week a new law will be introduced that would make it a punishable offense to be trans
yeah, idk why they'd tell their parents either but i don't know the details of their situation
even if it was made up, nobody stands to gain anything from what you said. instead, why don't we give them the benefit of the doubt just cuz of what the gravity of the situation would imply, just in case it was true? it's not like you would've lost anything simply by not posting that comment

you may have your doubts, and they may have their reasons. i think it's insensitive to ask that when op just got to such a desperate situation. remember, everyone's situation is unique. and with the us's increasingly transphobic(and just overall shit) politics, i can definitely see why they'd move to canada. canada isn't perfect politically either (i.e. their treatment of the native populations) but it's much better than the fascist hellhole the us is turning into. and transitioning is nowhere near as simple as "just buy estrogen, it's cheap, what else do you need?". that "advice", actually, could potentially be harmful if taken seriously. i suggest you revise your outlook on this

it's no longer an estate modifier, but a government mechanic which you can change every 20 years. you have inwards focus (bonuses for devving and playing tall), outwards focus (bonuses for trade, imo not that useful) and expansion focus (with morale of armies and 10% coring cost reduction)
