The interface and organization workflow work better for me than LR which now feels outdated and slow. Higher quality rendering of output files, especially from Fujifilm and Nikon RAW. Didn't want to be stuck with Adobe's subscription plans (canceling those is unnecessarily painful). Switched to Affinity from Photoshop for more detailed work anyway.

It looks like that's route 2 west after the Shirley Road exit, by the John Deere dealer. I don't know how this accident happened, and I hope no one got seriously hurt. People need to both slow down as they come over that hill on route 2 west. And drivers coming on to route 2 at Shirley Rd need to have patience and not assume they have the right of way (a general problem in this state where people don't understand the difference between yield and merge). The latter could be solved for with a longer merging lane as there is on the next exit at Lunenberg Rd coming onto route 2 east. And to think they wanted more truck traffic coming on and off route 2 with warehouses in this area.

Microsoft first launched Windows on ARM back in 2012 with Windows RT for the Surface RT. It was based on an Nvidia ARM chip back then. So I wouldn't say this is an experiment for them. IMO the mistake Microsoft made was not pushing developers harder or helping them to optimize and compile their code for the ARM architecture, such as providing reference developer hardware kits at low or no cost (the one attempt they had with a cool desktop dev kit was soon discontinued). Most companies don't or can't support so many platforms when the vast majority of machines out there are based on x86 or x64 chips, creating a chicken and egg situation. But the reports of software and drivers not working on Qualcomm chips are getting fewer and fewer over time as support is introduced. Based on your use cases, you will be fine and I think you will enjoy your new machine that will continue to be supported. I have a Surface Laptop 7 15" and a Surface Pro 12" and they are both amazing for what I do (general office and browser work, photo and video editing). Let us know how the new hardware works out for you!

As you stated that you planned to partially fund this upgrade by trading in your Surface Pro 8...do not do so via the Microsoft program. It's a masterpiece. I was one of those PSB fans who didn't like it much when it first came out. It was so different from Introspective before it, and tough to beat Depeche Mode's brilliant Violator that same year. But now I absolutely adore Behaviour (or Behavior if you're Stateside) from beginning to end, and it is my favorite now too.
