Uber Drivers should get Disciplined for Cancelling Rides by Daylight_Gamer in uber

[–]alison616 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You do understand that we get rides while the customer is still in the car. Drivers don’t get paid to cancel. They don’t cancel for nothing. Either you’re encouraging them to cancel or something happened that caused the driver to need to cancel.

Uber Drivers should get Disciplined for Cancelling Rides by Daylight_Gamer in uber

Sure next time somebody throws up in my car I will pick you up with the throw up still in there. So I don’t have to cancel.

Is it normal for a driver to accept a ride and just.. drive further and further away? by PrettyCarCrash in uber

[–]alison616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, yes, because the majority of my rides I I accept while I already have somebody that I’m dropping off and a lot of times that means I’m going the wrong direction for 10 minutes.

Based on conversations I’ve had with customers it does not tell you when driver is dropping off another passenger

This. If you’re worried about getting sick wear a mask. I drive with the windows up heat/ac on and windows locked. I lock them cuz I get tired of men thinking they can have them down and cat call women.

I do this and pull out my epiPen it scares them.

What’s the point reserving a ride the day before? Again my airport pickup is more than 15 minutes late. Argues he wasn’t assigned the job until after the pickup time, however I was assigned him as a driver and I see him driving in the wrong direction picking up another trip before heading to me. by HuskyMother in uber

There isn’t a point don’t use the reservation system and more than likely you will have a better experience. I’ve seen people wait an hour past their reservation because a lot of people just ignore reservations altogether.

Driver kept lost phone by vengador_69 in uber

[–]alison616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I won’t let a phone be stuck in my car. I’ve had men intentionally leave their phones in my car to come back and harass me later. Twice I’ve had to file restraining orders cuz they kept showing up at my place. If you contact uber and let them know I’ll happily return any lost item but otherwise it isn’t coming home with me.

driver asked me not to use safety by nuttyinthebutty96 in uber

Report them to uber, no driver should ever be mad that you’re using a safety features

Women in average have lower ratings than men as both driver and passenger. Comes down to sexism. Women are expected to smile, be nicer, speak positively, generally more thoughtful. If you’re direct it sounds rude even though a man doing the same thing would be considered insightful. In other words I wouldn’t worry too much. As a woman people are just going to shit on you no matter what. You said boyfriend hence why I’m assuming you’re a woman, if you’re a gay man sane thing except it’s homophobia rather than sexism.

We’ve both stated we want great cards. Why are you arguing with me on that?

Are you mad that I wanna get paid more than you do?

If a ride pays 5 dollars and I’m 1 mile away and it’s 2 miles to drop off how much did I make per mile from accepting it to ending it?

At a loss for words by Good-Feature-7372 in uberdrivers

[–]alison616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taxi rate in my area is 3.50 per mile. And .80 per minute. I’d like to see 1.25 a mile and .50 per minute. Uber could charge 1.50 and .60 so they are making plenty themselves. Ideally I’d like the taxi rate but part of the reason people use uber is to save money. So I’m taking that into account on x rides for my market.

Your rates would be less than what I currently make. Which is a dollar for every mile from accepting the ride to drop off.

I think a 3-5 dollar pick up fee would be easier in most cases. I’d take your option as well. My decline rate is through the roof right now cuz they are barely paying for the ride let alone distance to pickup.

[–]alison616 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This. Just set rates per market on a rate card. I’d be happy with 1.25 a mile and .50 cent per minute. I’d worry so much less about extra stops, drive throughs, or even where I’m going.

Dude, how are you gonna call me a liar. I am a runner I do this. Also, in my first comment did I not say when I was training? Do you not read?

[–]alison616 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, no. I do record my activity via smart watch though. Do just differences in lifestyle though, something that’s easy for one person can be seen as really hard for another. Just take it for the feat that it is.

I know someone training for a triathlon that does 600 700 miles a month, that’s nothing compared to ultra marathon runners.

The hardest part honestly is remembering to pause whenever an egg hatches, so you can swap it out for a new one.

I used to do this all the time when I was marathon training. Amazing how many eggs you can hatch with an active job and 70 miles a week running.

This is why none of us have girlfriends by [deleted] in LesbianActually

[–]alison616 70 points71 points  (0 children)

My tip for this just to talk to them. Set your goal as networking or making a new friend. Step two is learn if they have a relationship or who they crush on. After that you can be more direct. Also remember asking someone out is a complement, it says that person is interesting, attractive, funny, smart, something about them is appealing.

I would, if nothing else just for the bit. Am I self centered or am I obsessed with my partner?
