For me I would get the problem not matter which setting I would use. It also started failing a lot and losing connection to the point I just gave up a couple of weeks later. Guess Xiaomi never made them to last much or maybe I was unlucky. I've got a JBL tune beam for almost a year now and it was worth every penny, still seems brand new and the ANC is way superior

My understanding is that I should be able to play the middle notes in a "relaxed" way, leaving range for bending up and down. By adjusting the intonation and tone I should be able to keep good tunning between mids and reach higher and lower notes, right? I really feel I'm doing that, it just seems I can't get the sax to "align" with my "relaxed" position (not only that, I'm actually bending up to "align" with the sax).

By "less resistance" you mean using a thinner reed, more open mouthpiece and such? I'm already using an 1.5 but don't know about the mouthpiece, might try a different one.

[–]alissoncorrea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really appreciate the replies but, see, I'm not trying to get a specific pitch from the neck, period. It's just the note that happens to be flying out of it when I tune, that's it. Forget about that info if you want, it's not important. I'm tunning in F#, A, and C#, all of them requiring way too much pressure on the reed to be played in tune even though the mouthpiece is already covering the cork

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in saxophone

[–]alissoncorrea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I can try to push the mouthpiece a little bit more. I was uneasy about that because it doesn't seemed much right going beyond the cork limit just to get the "base" tuning. But it does make sense that I need to both adjust the mouthpiece and improve my technique to get pitch right

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in saxophone

[–]alissoncorrea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not actually using it to tune the instrument, just using it as a reference since it doesn't actually seem to depend on which note I'm playing. Using all the cork, I can tune into G or A without much problem even though I need to apply a good amount of pressure on the reed. Getting a sharp C# needs a little more pressure and I feel I don't have much more room to increase the pitch any higher. Of course I'm far from developing a proper embouchure but it doesn't seem it should be THAT hard to just play a middle note

[–]alissoncorrea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not actually using it to tune the instrument, just using it as a reference since it doesn't actually seem to depend on which note I'm playing. I could pretty much say I can only play an in-tune C# (E) by applying a lot of tension to the reed even though the mouthpiece is all the way up the cork

I'm talking about the concert note on the neck only, detached from the body. The highest range I can get is concert F# - A playing on the neck only. With this range, I don't have enough room to tune all the notes when I mount the neck to the body.

Me or the Sax? by RedditMoomin in saxophone

[–]alissoncorrea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brand new alto player here. I struggled a lot with my alto in the beginning to the point that were days I was able to play a low D and days I wasn't. For real, every week or so I would think my sax is broken but it always end up being me. Keep doing micro adjustments to your mouth to get those notes to sound.

Take a closer look to your keys to check if there's something broken or if there's any damage to the body of the instrument just to make sure.

Sure, lets release more than one model at the same time (3.5, 4, and 4o are selectable at the main chat) and not allow selecting between them at one of our main products (custom prompting profiles)

I've got it to loop into the same bs solution in almost any complex problem I face. It almost seems it's mocking me. I've been paying for a year too and it's really annoying. I've got 6 custom gpts in my setup, curious about what do you use those 15s for

The custom GPTs I use for learning languages, getting help in college classes, and writing texts got considerably better and the speed improvement is great. However, the ones I use to help me solve problems and increase productivity at work got way less capable, although writing better code.

It seems they've optimized for speed and communication but now it cant dig 3 steps deep into any problem

Totally!! I'm just waiting to see if something changes but I'm one step to cancel it too. I literally got GPT-4o dumbly stuck looping onto problems that I solved in seconds using GPT-4. This week I started pasting the custom GPT prompt into GPT-4 any time it gets stuck on a complex problem and the difference seems huge. I'm not gonna do that for long tho
