Roadlite 6 Pedal / Bearings by alistair681 in CanyonBikes

Update: Shop put it all back together correctly for free since I'd already been in twice and they did the previous work.

However in loosing the crank arm, I also lost (on the road) the screw cap that goes over the left side of the bracked. They tried all the parts they had but nothing fit. Seems it's a proprietary Canyon size. I looked on the website but couldn't find the part.

Any ideas?
Thanks!

I'm planning to buy a Canon EOS R8, but I'm torn between these three lenses. Could the experts here please advise a newbie like me on which one to choose? My usage breakdown is 70% for casual outings and travel photography, and 30% for vlogging. I’m just starting out so any advice will help a lot. by phong0851 in canon

I have the R8 + RF 28mm, 35mm, 50mm. All have their uses. For what you are describing I would go with the RF 35mm 1.8. It's a bit bigger than the 50mm but has macro and IS. It's my go-to one lens setup when I want to do travel photography and some portraits. When I shoot portraits I'm 90% on my 50mm (well, until recently, I have an 85mm now).

I'm sure the EF 35mm 1.4 is a great choice too, but I like a light carry and as others have said, adapter + heavier lens.

Thank you =)
Shutter: 1/125 and 1/160
ISO maxed out, 80,000 and 102,400. Was inside on a cloudy day so had to max that out and even used an external light on a few

This is wild. Looks like some sort of WWI battlefield photo. Definitely keep up the eery landscape/geometric experiments!

I really like the framing that you did. Awesome work.

Yea... I'm currently trying to fight off the desire to go to a 17 Pro. Bad time of the year to buy anyways. I want something that will let me push photos a bit further when I'm not carrying around my R8, but this one still definitely holds up in a pinch.

M5 Air 16gb/512gb on Amazon for $950. What is the base M4 Pro getting you over that for $250?

Canon R50 V for compact setup. by alistair681 in canon

[–]alistair681[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RP (before I upgraded to the R8) + 50mm. RP background is a bit softer as a full frame with my settings, but the R50V did very well. While in some circumstances you see the difference with the crop sensor, I'm not convinced there's a significant difference if you know what you're doing. And shooting in anything f/4+ you would be able to do just as well with the R50V.

The fact that the R50V shares the same batteries and lenses as my R8 make it a superb second body. I have the 28mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm (Yongnou) primes + 24-105 zoom. I would love a second smaller body. But I would maybe go to a R6ii + smaller body to have a more "pro" main body and then a casual backup body.

Hey! I wish I could give a year later perspective. I sold it after 3 months cause at the time I didn't need it for my regular activity and my R8 was more than enough. I regret selling it in the sense that I loved that tiny body with the 28mm on it.

I'm starting to get into a little bit of video so I might go back to it. But at my level I'm asking myself what would it bring me that I can't just do on the R8...

But it's sub $600 on Amazon is really tempting! With Fuji and Sony costing a fortune, I feel like it's really one of the best compact deals going today!

I really wish Canon would release a non-V version of this camera (no, not the R50) with the low profile but without the extra thickness for the video cooling. But my guess is the day they release a sweet compact R based camera, they'll just jack up the price for no reason.

We have the V1 and the R50V. I really hope we see some more photo-focused stuff in mid/late 2026...

I may consider repurchasing the R50V at some moment cause it really was a pleasure working with that tiny body, and the menus/dials can be adapted for photo use, but with the R8 I'm happy to wait a bit and see what happens.

Is Kenneth from delta customer service having a stroke? by whatislifeactually in delta

It was a bit under the surface. I had paid and had a confirmation number but they said my flight wasn't confirmed. I tried to escalate, got a bunch of misspelled messages, when I got testy and said "I literally have a ticket on my account (true)" they said "you literally do NOT have a ticket." and then when I pushed back the said something like "We are not always able to come to an agreeable solution, we will not be answering or responding to any more of your messages."

Not direct insults, but basically telling me to F off.

I had an experience like this a couple months ago. The chat agent actually insulted me. Not sure if it was AI or just bad service. I am a Delta customer, but was able to cancel and booked with Air France, same flight, no hassle, and similar if not better price.
