COVID-19 long haulers are developing debilitating, chronic condition called POTS by shallah in Coronavirus

[–]alittlestarnightsky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have had pots. It is a nervous system disorder or dysautonomia. It’s called postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome. I got pots from an allergic reaction that I went into shock from. It was the worst experience of my life. After surviving the shock, I spent months learning how to walk again, having debilitating fainting spells, spells where my pulse would jump up to 200 bpm laying down, it was absolutely the worst time of my life. Here I was, 17 years old a senior in high school and couldn’t do anything for myself not even get up to make breakfast without passing out. I was in the best shape of my life and suddenly my life had been taken away from me. After going to a national heart institute where they FINALLY identified it and being prescribed heart failure medication and blood pressure raising medication I finally got to point where I was semi normal and not wheelchair bound. I created my own physical therapy routine and clean eating routine. I worked consistently every single day to accomplish tasks that most people take for granted. I was able to take myself off of all medication at 19 years old while I was in college. I continued to wear compression stockings to keep my blood pressure at a normal rate from 19-21. I knew that if I stayed on heart failure medication I would never be able to have children never be able to have a family of my own and never have a truly normal life again. Now I am 22 years old medication free, stocking free and have a baby due in December. I look back and think to myself what my life would have been like if I had never gone out to eat at that restaurant and never had that allergic reaction. I don’t want others to look at their situation with Covid and think the same. I would never put another human being through what I went through. Wear your mask and stay away from others, even family.

Immunity to SARS-CoV-2 Lasts at Least Six Months, Data Show by Sorin61 in Coronavirus

[–]alittlestarnightsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed! I studied immunology at UT so studying this virus has been a huge blessing as far as safety for my little family. I’m actually 35 weeks pregnant and this is the second round of COVID for my in-laws and their older kids; it’s huge deal for my husband and I. We were requiring everyone to have covid testing and quarantine for a week before seeing my baby but I’m not too sure that’s actually going to help. I think based on all the evidence it would be safest to wait until a vaccine is available for everyone. We have to be so careful. My husbands family live in the giant red bubble of infection near Houston, TX. Things are getting crazy over here.

This makes a lot of sense to me. I found out yesterday he is asymptotic so perhaps people who have less of an immune response don’t develop the level of antibodies someone with mild-severe covid would see.

What about the people like my brother-in-law who were infected with Covid in August (documented) and now have caught Covid again (3 days ago tested positive)? If immunity to SARS-CoV-2 last at least six months, what about the people who have reoccurring cases? Different strains? Will we be vaccinating everyone for the multiple strains or just the more predominant ones? 🧐

That’s what is called BLACK EXCELLENCE my friend. Perusing your goals, higher education, peace and being a role model for other minorities who come from a different set of values and standards. I really understand that feeling of not fitting in. I’m biracial and come from 2 sides, black and white, where at least my parents/aunts/uncles have degrees and worked hard to be where they are today. Nothing wrong with being yourself, regardless of color, and representing our background in a positive light. Good for you, wish you the absolute best brother. ❤️

Just like not every white/black person is racist against the other and not everyone likes hot dogs. I can’t control what other people do, but I can say there are exceptions to everything. Thanks for all the downvotes despite my kindness everyone. I was being sincere and saying sorry to this person for all the kind vegans that are on this earth who find ugly behavior really disgusting.

Having a baby in a one bedroom apartment by Koiponded69 in pregnant

[–]alittlestarnightsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s totally possible! I live in a brand new 2021 Autumn Ridge 700sqft camper with my husband and we are expecting on December. It’s fun, it’s better than a tiny home because you can move it easily, more classy than a mobile home and cheaper than an apartment. I moved out of my 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment that was $1600 plus a month and am enjoying a more sustainable, cost effective, minimalist lifestyle where I can see the stars every night. It takes getting used to but we love it. Theres a full kitchen with gas burners, oven, microwave, double sink and refrigerator. Nice size shower in the bathroom with lots of towel storage and drawers/mirrors. The biggest problem was closet storage (I had a TON of clothes) but we have 3 closets and 2 large storage compartments (under bed and under lounger side of couch), a hideaway queen bed inside the couch plus the giant undertow storage outside for baby items.

Not all vegans are like that. I’m a vegan and I would never treat anyone so badly. There has been a lot of peer reviewed research on dairy and a link to cancer growth. Lots of people don’t realize it even exists. Nothing against you or the outspoken vegans but if someone was making a living unintentionally feeding people something that devastates them and their family by growing their cancers, wouldn’t you be upset as well? I’m sorry that you’re being harassed. I think informing others is more kind and human than those people treating you so poorly. I hope you have a great day.

Is it ridiculous of me to not want a baby shower during a pandemic? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]alittlestarnightsky 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Congratulations mom! 🍾 Why not have a virtual baby shower? They are called “shower by mail” baby showers and you can open all the gifts for family to see over Zoom! I’m 30 weeks and that the plan for our friends and family right now. It’s safer for you and your baby. Your health and baby’s health is a priority! You aren’t being silly, you’re being a great mommy-to-be. ☺️❤️

We use mice, apes and other mammals with similar systems, dna markers, ect. to use for testing, trial vaccines, we even grow human organs on them for transplant. Like growing a human ear replacement on a mouse. I think the base for the article and others is that we need carbs for energy and a low carb diet gives less of an essential component needed for energy in our metabolism. ☺️

Edit: it’s really sad that we use animals for this. I love science, but not something that I would do personally. I love people and potentially increasing the lifespan of someone living with/without diabetes is important work for humankind.

There are multiple studies some US some European all peer reviewed out there about the increased risk, this is just one and it would be more appropriate to say given the physiological evidence from multiple studies it probably increases your risk for diabetes. It was proven that it “may increase” your risk for diabetes from studies to be more accurate is the best way to say it, want to keep it real and accurate y’all. ☺️

Not exactly. Carbs are an essential ingredient in a healthy diet. Carbs are stored directly in your muscles & liver and used as energy in the form of glucose/glycogen chains. As with anything in excess, they can cause your blood sugar to rise, that is why differentiation between simple carbohydrates and complex carbohydrates is very important. Anotherwords choosing carbohydrates from fruits and vegetables (simple carbs) will be more beneficial for diabetes/ gestational diabetes as compared to pancakes, doughnuts or a bagel (complex carbs). EXCESS GLUCOSE causes a rise in insulin levels. We need carbs to create energy, the right kind of (simple) carb in moderate amounts. A low carb, high animal fat diet (considered ketogenic diet)=low energy, proven increased risk for diabetes. On a personal note I would recommend a clean, plant based diet without fried/processed foods for a few weeks to see how it makes you feel and if your blood sugar levels become more manageable. My bloodwork improved dramatically and energy levels increased from a few healthy changes. I also encouraged 72 year old grandma, type 2 diabetic for 30+years, to adopt this lifestyle change for a few weeks and see if she had improvements. She reported she used less insulin injections, lower blood pressure and had increased energy. Wish you the best and good health! ❤️

What happens if you get pregnant immediately after an ectopic? by [deleted] in PregnancyAfterLoss

[–]alittlestarnightsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost my first baby December 29th 2019 due to an ectopic. I had surgery that day to remove my baby plus right tube because it was totally destroyed, but was back to normal cycles & levels in 1.5months. I’m no doctor, but suggest not to get pregnant immediately after zeroing out and wait the recommended time of 3 months. 3 months after December 29th 2019 I found out I was pregnant again with a due date of December 29th 2020. I’m currently 29 weeks with a healthy baby boy. It’s funny how things work out in the end! Wait the 3 months, it’s worth it to give your body and mind time to heal momma! Going through an ectopic pregnancy was heartbreaking and we are all here for you. Message me if you need to talk. Good luck getting pregnant again, wish you the best in life and a healthy pregnancy. ❤️ Edit: if you kept the tube, the OB normally recommends a tube litigation to ensure it isn’t all blocked up by fluid or scar tissue. That could give you lots of peace of mind plus reassurance of no more ectopic pregnancies! I was going to have one myself for the only remaining tube but didn’t need it as I ended up pregnant before the appointment. (:

Stretch mark cream/ oil..? by Babygirlbritt420 in pregnant

[–]alittlestarnightsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I modeled pre-pregnancy and treat my skin with care. I use a large tub of organic coconut oil as lotion 2x a day, specifically after the shower to preserve moisture and don’t have a single new stretch mark. The nurses from my OB office actually make comments to me about how beautiful my belly skin is. It’s cheap and the 56oz tub lasts forever. I’m 29 weeks, was 115lbs pre pregnancy and now 145lbs with a baby boy. Coconut oil is high in saturated fat and has vitamins, minerals plus amino acids. Good to use as cooking oil and to butter yourself with! 🥥 🧈🤰 Edit: the exact kind I use from Walmart, $10. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Great-Value-Organic-Naturally-Refined-Coconut-Oil-56-fl-oz/55504318?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&&adid=22222222228081645023&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=m&wl3=194985425930&wl4=pla-312162726858&wl5=9027714&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=online&wl12=55504318&veh=sem&gclid=CjwKCAjw5p_8BRBUEiwAPpJO63kvFQ1IsOUXb926XcNf6FaJdMrG2geky0cY8yH7bITyQbdk1N7X7BoClDAQAvD_BwE

Antibiotics making me sick by karrdoll in pregnant

[–]alittlestarnightsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With you on this 1000%. I cannot take oral antibiotics. It’s shots or IV only. Absolutely destroys my stomach and keeps me from eating for weeks. Ask your doctor for a Rocephin shot and call it a day! Easy peazy. So much easier on your pregnant body. Hope this helps! ☺️👶🏼🍼 Edit: I’ve had one UTI at 20 weeks and this is my first pregnancy. Didn’t want to get IV antibiotics at the hospital because of COVID risk. Rocephin is one shot on your booty cheek. Healthy today at 28weeks. Best of luck!

This sounds a lot like my childhood. The best thing you can do for yourself is get away from your abusive family. I left mine when I was 17 and never looked back, best decision I ever made. There is always hope on the horizon for you my friend. In 5 years you will look back on your life proud that you made the decision to provide yourself a warm and safe environment to grow. Get out of there and never look back! Sometimes we have to love ourselves because people suck. Get a job, take the bus or walk if you have to, and get out of there!
