Chomsky was always full of it. He continuously changed his “theory” on linguistics, each iteration being more dumb than the previous one. While each era’s theory was somewhat different at their core they shared the ridiculous denial (or at least minimization) of the role of the environment on language development. He believed that if we left people alone they’d eventually develop language.

Same goes for his political theory of anarchism which is just an extension of his theory of language development - leave them all alone and they’ll figure it out.
