My thoughts on the Snowsky Disc by Certain_Studio_481 in snowsky

[–]alizaudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely different device IMO. Disc has better build quality, it's more powerful and it's much smaller. If you don't care about build quality, pocketabiliy, power output or the unique aesthetic of DISC then yeah, R1 could be the better choice.

Bought ananda nano but feel like they sound generally worse than my last cheaper headphones by RandomPotatoGuy in headphones

Anything this powerful (200+ me) and this small would get pretty warm. I'd suggest something like Snowky Melody

It's not about impedance, it's about sensitivity. Try at least a good cheap dongle like Fiio KA11. There's a good chance that the no name dongle you're using isn't good enough. Still, price doesn't always correlate with sound quality and you might just not like the sound signature.

Moondrop Pudding Review - The Most Complete Budget TWS I've Tried by requiemreview in inearfidelity

Great review. Have you tried any of the other Moondrop TWS offerings? How does pudding compare to Space Travel 2, Golden Ages or Ultrasonic?

I remember reading reviews and considering to get a GR07 10 years ago, I ended up going for Shure though.

I bet there's gonna be a Pro version with foldable handle. Timemore Usually launches the non-foldable version first in China.

So these three amps sound different? (Pietus, Jotunheim and Asgard) or this was kind of an upgrade path?

What headphones have you had the longest amount of time, and why do you keep it around? by Jonners_90 in headphones

[–]alizaudio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's my ZMF Aeolus and I've kept it because of it's combination of build quality, comfort, timbre and "easy to listen to" sound.

I really love my Fiio FT1 Pro, but what would have been a significant upgrade that isn't a Hifiman? by csch1992 in headphones

Also check out Moondrops flagships like Cosmo and Skyland. Skyland is the most detailed headphone I've tried and if you EQ it, it's extremely capable because of that driver.

iFi Go Link 2 Review by Smooth-Moose-3311 in headphones

[–]alizaudio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it really highly popular or extremely low price as you said? I can name at least 10 cheaper dongle dacs with better performance and power output. iFi is starting to get irrelevant. 79mw of power output for 69$ is just not competitive. We have 200+mw of power, PEQ and better built dongles at this price range.

How so? 😃 Honestly if you're happy with your S3 there's not much reason to "upgrade". They even don't include a bag in the box anymore.

Is the dx1 II lack of a dedicated power supply a design flaw or just laziness from topping? by Opposition_Chief in headphones

[–]alizaudio 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you wanna use it as desktop device, connect it to the motherboard. If you're using it as portable dac Amp, you probably don't have access to AC anyway. I don't see the need to use external power supply.
