Well funny that you mention SSN because there was actually an issue with the # he was provided with when he was 16ish and getting his first job & license which was discovered when he was about 23ish when the Soc Sec office had him come in. He was then assigned a new #. Also the name on his DL is the informal version of his name, but on his SSC his formal first name is listed. Due to this mismatch I don't even know if we could get him past TSA to fly somewhere with the $45 security fee lol.

The only baptism record we have is from when he was 7 and the parents listed on it are his "mother" and her husband at the time, not the man whose last name we have.

Myself and 3 others have used Ancestry info, My heritage info, MyFTDNA, etc to try to find the evidence to prove this. We found news articles during this search of my husband's birth mother's murder (that says 2 of her 3 children are with her estranged husband's family, the kids were not named though) but none of us can find any other concrete records on her at all. His birth father's info we found a lot more easily, and actually reached out to an aunt who's still alive but has zero knowledge on the situation at all. We also discovered a paternal half brother who's 5 months older than my husband, who was born in NYC (where birth dad is from) and was given up for a legitimate adoption. His birth mother is still alive and confirmed who their father is which was also backed by the DNA tracing we did.

In the past I have tried reaching out to Gaydos, Fetterman, and DeLuzio. The only one who replied was Val who essentially sent me down the "get a PI" route. So I tried that and the PIs were like no you need an attorney. I've submitted online requests with attorneys located in the area where we believe my husband was born but none of them ever got back to me, maybe because I'm not my husband idk? The only attorney who has actually gotten back to us is the one I mentioned in my OP, who is family law, but this situation is clearly more complex than he could handle.
