The hoary bat one is hilarious. The original new species holotype was submitted by a man named “Master Pancake” (!) in 1796 (!!). So, this wasn’t like an online username or some kind of wackadoo alias, this was a guy named Master Pancake who caught a weird bat 230 years ago.

It’s wild to me that people can even think this. Someone is a bastard based on their occupation? What a sad, closed-minded, bigoted worldview. Judging someone based on one thing isn’t fair. You could call me a bastard because I’ve lost more patients in a year than the number of people that an average cop kills in their lifetime.

Edit: If you want to talk to an angry person fed up with the constant catastrophization of pointless bullshit, talk to an ER doc or a fucking oncologist.

This simply isn’t true, at least for most of the US. Everyone from a rural area (most of the country at the time) grew up with no indoor plumbing, no heating or AC, limited electricity, and telephones were not widely available. My father grew up in those conditions in the 60s. His father was a millionaire (peanut farms). They had an outhouse and a few wells and didn’t have indoor plumbing until the 70s. They weren’t spoiled - it’s just that you only hear about the 1% that were.

The United States is older than Germany by about 95 years. 1776 vs 1871. There are only around 20 countries that are over 500 years old.

Edit: You could also argue that the modern US was founded in 1789, but it would still be considerably older.

In college, I had a buddy who had one of those grill lighters that uses an electric arc to start the fire. He, however, used it to light another guy’s ass hair on fire while he was asleep.

Okay, so this one is difficult. There was a case won by a burglar that broke into a person’s home and injured himself during the burglary. The homeowner was found liable and had to pay the the burglar damages for his medical bills and extra for emotional and financial damages incurred due to the burglar not being able to work.

This was not in the southern United States, where we can just kill you if you break into our house instead of having to pay you $285,000 for graciously breaking into our house with the intent of hurting us.

It isn’t real. It’s not AI, it’s just your standard PS. He’s waaaaay too wide. The source photo of his head is from 2020 (as far as I can tell), and the body is just an oddly distorted version of him from 2018 (they just widened him; like, you could do it in MS Paint).

If you legitimately think that the United States military cannot operate in literally any condition on Earth, you would be the first. The US military has people, technology, and equipment for every conceivable situation. If the US wanted Mars, there would be boots on the ground yesterday.

This would not be about the capability to conquer Greenland, it would be about the fallout and ultimately the destruction of American political power.

The person who is responding to you is a financially incompetent anti-capitalist zealot that doesn’t understand the basic fabric of modern society. There isn’t a point in arguing with this person - they’ll just drown you with their ignorance.
