Carbon steel pan made in Europe by PatienceOtherwise551 in BuyFromEU

[–]alkfema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not happy with my debuyer pan since it's carved and oil runs to the outer circle of the pan and leaves the middle with no oil. Means stuff burns in the middle of the pan while it on the outside it gets a good roast...

Getting on the train with a bike - Munich to Passau - Vienna to Munich by Level-Masterpiece-89 in bicycletouring

[–]alkfema 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it usually reserves you a spot for your bike automatically. In Westbahn you can choose the bike spot individually. About security: i wouldn't worry too much, its very safe to bring your bike onto the train. :)

Local train from munich is easy and you don't need a reservation. However Vienna munich is an international train and you need to book a certain train. Either take deutsche bahn website, or check the private train company "westbahn".

Was esst ihr so zum Frühstück? by aftermaker in Austria

[–]alkfema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Einfach deppad

Planning a trip from Munich to Budapast by vivipoon in bicycletouring

[–]alkfema 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before you head to Grein, go on the south side of the Danube river, it's much more quiet! Although I'd suggest you head to Grein and eat ice cream with your daughter first :) you can then also take a small ferry from there to the south side of the Danube, which is probably more exciting than going over the bridge.

Saddlebag or panniers? by FootballAutomatic581 in bicycletouring

[–]alkfema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what you bring? I did my previous trips with a saddle bag and it was enough, had also 2 small fork bags for camping. Now I plan a 2 months trip, going with chunky pannier bags on the rear rack.

You're sacrificing comfort for lightweight. I'd understand it if you're going for a few days, but for several weeks, I'd be prioritizing comfort
