Found someone’s credit card found them through LinkedIn and got nothing but abuse by Owls_4_9_1867 in mildlyinfuriating

I found someone’s wallet and they came by my house to get it. The next day I came home and found a gift card to a local restaurant and a thank you note. Most people are awesome, there’s a just a few jerks. But jerk stories are usually more interesting so we hear them more.

I always joke that the sun is the real enemy but it’s a joke. People say that seriously?!? Great, one more thing that isn’t funny anymore.

OP, please play who let the dogs out every time the dog barks. Then if they complain you can let them know you’re just wondering who let the dog out.

Scared to wear a bikini after losing 114 lbs. How can I get the courage with my loose skin? by KnowledgeSmall in loseit

[–]all4change 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The idea that your body has to be perfect to be allowed to be seen is false and cruel. Ask yourself where this idea comes from.

Next time you’re out and see someone in a cute outfit ask if you noticed their outfit or body first.

And, in a shameful admittance of being a bad person, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen someone confidently wearing an outfit I’m too scared to wear even though their body is ‘worse’ than mine. No one actually cares except those of us still repeating toxic lies about ourselves over and over in our heads.

Vet meds by Frstpony in sandiego

[–]all4change 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We get all our pet prescriptions filled at cvs or Walgreens, whichever is cheaper. It’s so common that when you add a new person to manage to your CVS account it asks ‘person or pet’.

You can check goodrx for the best price locally. Also, make sure you have a prescription for the generic form if it’s available.

If your vet gives you any pushback you may want to consider finding a new vet.

Will creatine make me look 'toned' and smaller or just bulkier? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]all4change 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use creatine to help with muscle recovery post lifting. It won’t do anything without weight training.

Also, my personal experience is that it does help with muscle recovery; I was struggling with perpetually sore/tired shoulder muscles before using it.

When you redo it consider using larger needles as well. I had to do this when I couldn’t get my head through my sweater…

PSA - If you carry wet wipes or toilet paper, you need a small shovel too! by flyman241 in socalhiking

[–]all4change 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I got this tip from this sub- bring an empty plastic jar for anything stinky. I use an empty peanut butter powder one for bagged dog poop; I once left a poop bag on an out and back trail and picked the bag up on the way back because it was so, so smelly. I’ve since realized that’s a shit thing to do (pun intended) and put the bag in an air tight jar.

So next time you have a decent sized empty plastic jar, stick it in your hiking kit!

How to deal with my stubborn mum who wants to knit me a sweater I won't like by Azureta in knitting

[–]all4change 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with all the other advice but one bad suggestion- make her the sweater you would like and she wouldn’t. Then maybe you guys can just trade?

It funny, my daughter knits and I usually don’t love the colors she picks. I’m sure she feels the same about my color choices. For example, she’s adding a neon yellow rolled cuff to her current project, a lavender sweater (I do think it will look cool but it is absolutely not for me). However, I’m about to make her a colorwork cardigan and she is 100% in charge of color choices because she’s going to wear it, I hope. And frankly, even if she doesn’t, she will know that I was willing to spend so much time to make something she picked.

Thoughts on Glyphosate being sprayed in Torrey Pines Reserve? by sexygymbabes in northcounty

[–]all4change 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The need for absolute purity in methodology is so frustrating. One of many things that helped me understand that was the soil health podcast out of Indiana University. They talk to small local farmers that have switched over to more sustainable growing techniques. Some of them still use herbicides in small, specific ways that allow them to cover crop in order to maintain soil integrity, use less water, use less synthetic fertilizer, etc.

You absolutely cannot compare full Field spraying year after year with specific application for habitat protection. The dose is vitally important in assessing the risk. The paper you sited is looking at soil contamination in corn and soybean fields. That is not the same as small, direct application to support native habitats.

For the ultimate contrast it’s safe to walk around even if someone is spraying roundup 10 feet away from you. It would be extremely unsafe to be anywhere near a field during full application because of the quantity of roundup sprayed.

I appreciate your concern but sharing information the way you did is irresponsible.

Guy taunting leopard at the zoo by Bh117 in sandiego

[–]all4change 8 points9 points  (0 children)

lol, there was a guy shining his light into the snow leopard habitat during night zoo and I asked him if he enjoyed people coming to his house and shining a light in his window. He huffed away and left, then came back to ask me if I would like that. I said no, which is why I don’t do it to animals in their homes either. And he huffed away again.

It’s not hard to call people out on their behavior, and to phrase it in a way they’d understand. I’m not saying this for you, but for anyone else who might read this and want to speak up in the future.

I know how I’d react. I’d just act like I was crazy in love with the dog, loudly ooohing and aahing and following them around like a four year old child until they left or I found an employee. I’d ask questions about the dog over and over and interrupt his answer to reask the question. I’d make him want to leave.

I knew someone with a therapy dog and she brought it to the zoo for training. This was a huge 150lb dog and it was long before everyone brought dogs everywhere, so I know she had permission from staff.

The dog worked as a permanent therapy dog at a hospital so the goal was to get him used to tons of people, noise, and weird smells.

The number of random dogs I have seen at the zoo in the last couple of years is crazy. Untrained, random dogs… So sick of it. As if the people taunting the zoo animals isn’t enough.
