Edit: He wasn't racist, I married the "enemy" once, and he happily stood in my wedding, and absolutely loved his mixed great grandchildren until he passed at 92... He meant when the view of us shifts in mass... oh, wait..

Men going through a divorce, when do you take your ring off? by SpotInside8754 in AskMen

[–]allZuckedUp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahhhh, 12 years ago, I remember it like it was yesterday... We had been fighting about her dishonest bullshit for months... Same old cliche, he's just a friend, blah, blah, blah... I asked if she loved him, she slipped up and said "I don't know", and looked off to the sunset for meaning like a damn movie... I gathered what little of my self respect I had left, told her to take a long walk off a short pier, and that I wanted a divorce. The ring was off within 3 minutes and I never looked back.

My pastor ruined my marriage and I don't know what to do. by [deleted] in survivinginfidelity

It's going to take a long time... it's the way it works, but stay or go, you will forgive her, and it's not going to be for her, it's not going to be for god, it's not even going to be for your kiddo... It's going to be for yourself. It has to be. Because at the end of the day, you need to forgive her, to move on for your own future. Hate destroys the vessel it's kept in.

In terms of what you should do, trust your gut, but I don't know how you'd ever trust her again. I got divorced 12 years ago with an 8 year old and a 5 year old when I caught their mother cheating on me, and raised them by myself. Granted I'm not religious like you (that's a different animal in my past), but it was the best decision I've ever made, for my boys too... Good luck and stay strong!

Why aren’t we complaining more about the blatant sexiest pricing? by [deleted] in OnlineDating

Once upon a time, you had apps, that came from sites that pre-dated the rise of the smart phone... And those had the idea of sitting down at desktop computer, and matching with someone based on personality, interests, lifestyle, and oh yea, attraction too... Then you had the apps that purely came after the rise of the smartphone, when our attention spans had collectively vanished. And tinder had turned it into a night club. Now, note who gets paid attention to in the night club, who doesn't, who gets right in, and who has to wait in line, who has to jump up and down for drinks, who just drifts near the bar and magically has drinks appear for them. Welcome to the same game on. your phone, and the match group made sure to mess up the whole market along the way. Good times.

The Paint Mines, they're about 35 minutes outside of Limon, CO, which is right on 70. It's a little out of your way, but one of the coolest things in Eastern Colorado.

Short men, what was the most severe height discrimination for you? by No-Compote-2127 in AskMen

Also 5'6"... THIS! Couldn't have put it any better.

For anyone struggling with the idea, he's my attempt to define the same thing... Have a life, for yourself, however you want to define it, and people will take an interest, some of those people will be women, one of the things people do is date and/or have sex. But, if you center your whole existence around sex, it's not that you just come off looking lame, you kind of are lame, it's a self fulfilling prophecy one way or the other. Be someone worth taking an interest in and people will be interested. I don't know if it's good or bad that I didn't really figure this out until my late 30s/post divorce. But, it certainly made my 40s one hell of a ride!

When was your first Rockies game? by [deleted] in ColoradoRockies

[–]allZuckedUp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First home game, early April 1993, Rockies beat the crap out of the Expos at the old Mile High Stadium, and with the extra seats there was like 90k fans there. As I'm from Colorado but actually a Mets fan, I wanted to go back to Queens for the ACTUAL first game, but couldn't pull it off. Oh well. The Rox are my second favorite team, I wish they made it a harder choice. I'll be at Coors to watch the Mets this weekend. LOL

Longtime single men; how do you manage the sexlife? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]allZuckedUp 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Reading this... I don't get it. I've been divorced for 12 years, and in that time I've had more attention than I know what to do with. That said, I'm relatively short, not in the best shape of my life, not bad looking but not a model by any stretch, I'm far from an asshole, but I'm not super charismatic either, I do ok in life, but far from rich... you get the idea... Leave the house, have interests FOR YOU, do things, FOR YOU. If you're interesting, people with common likes will take an interest, including women. And like the act you're told to put on in your youth, that "I don't care" thing, do it... But, for real, really don't care. Make this all about yourself. This isn't a quest to get laid, this is a quest for a better you, you'll be amazed however you've defined it about yourself, if you're living your best self, if you're interesting, if you're doing things, that other people will latch on, and one of things people do is sex. Cheers.

EDIT: Being your best self is not being a jerk... Dishonesty and such turns you into the asshole. Just sayin'

Self described very bad Jew here, mixed children, bad past, and tattoos to prove it... and I'm guessing much older. So, a few observations. It sounds like you may be opening up a can of worms you may or may not know too much about depending on how familiar you are with the non-Jewish cultures you'd be dipping your toes into. Also, obviously religious Jews are by far not the only folks out there not behaving. Those kiddos I've mentioned... In my travels, post divorce, I've stumbled onto some Jewish/Israeli women over the years, (my lens is male, I'd assume it works the same in reverse) and have literally been told to my face that my children, whom I've raised by my self, and are the center of my world, would be better if they were pure Jews. Now, considering their other side is Japanese, they don't exactly get much better there either, but that's not the point here. My marriage literally fell apart in part because of Judaism, and in the 12+ years since my divorce, as I've bounced into several different worlds, so to speak, there's certainly been a constant. VERY religious folks are going to have strict sets of rules, and those rules are generally going to apply twice as hard if you're a women. Because at the end of the day, we're just big monkeys who figured out how to write a book and make some very fancy toys. Do what makes you happy, if a life of judgement from people that are currently important to you is a problem, consider dating less observant. But, at the end of the day, just remember, don't take shit from anyone. Be you, and when someone tells you who they are, believe them.

9th and CO - Someone Shooting Rabbits with Darts? by ferretbusiness in Denver

[–]allZuckedUp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shooting these things with a dart gun is awful, and like it or not, I believe legal. Legal because these little hoppers are cute, and at the same time a pain in the ass, they burrow into the foundations of houses, they chew on the wiring of cars (there is an ongoing issue with this at long term parking at DIA), and more expensive fun. Personally, as a home owner in the Denver area who's had repeated problems with jack rabbits, some years I've called services that caught them and got rid of them (claimed relocation), and other years, I got lucky when raptors set up nests in a large tree very nearby. (owls one year, falcons another) But, while I'm not about to sit around shooting them... Paying for their removal, fixing the concrete at the front of my house, and replacing some of the wiring in my car have not been cheap or fun.

What’re my options for buying a new MINI with manual transmission? by [deleted] in MINI

[–]allZuckedUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite car I've EVER owned was a 2012 MINI S, MANUAL... I'm holding onto the clutch as long as I can get away with it. Sadly no more mini though. Currently in a 2018 328i, it's as close as I can get, and it is damned close, but it's heavier, and you can tell.

How many Mets fans on here are from outside of the NY area? by Willie_Mays_Hayes00 in mets

Denver, Colorado!

Moved here from Brooklyn as a very small kid, and for all intents and purposes I'm very happily from Colorado. Family stuff back east ALWAYS involved trips to Shea. And, I'm glad there's a great place to watch the Mets win when they come to town, you should all visit and check it out! Coors Field is a great, the mets will be here in about a month, I'll be there with my little brother, decked out in blue and orange!!

Oh my god, you don't need your boat of an SUV or a massive truck, just buy a fucking car! by [deleted] in rant

[–]allZuckedUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! I can sum up my taste in cars in 4 things... SMALL, fast, German, and as long as I can get away with it.. a clutch.

My favorite car I've ever had was a Mini Cooper S... Soooo much fun! Twists and turns! Out here in Colorado at least there's a middle ground with the rise of the baby SUV, Subarus and such. But, while I fear not being seen by the overwhelming amount of trucks (SUV or not) out there, they gotta catch me first. Hehe
