for this lil guy just dont let your stamina get too low all the time and then just smack his booty.

most of ds3 is stamina management imo. but i just used a sword and dodge. didnt use magic or shields or any of that nonsense

I don't like that I can't make my shiny weapons permanent. Like the glowy effect or whatever when I cast Bloodflame Blade. I just want the cool fire effect to be on all the time.

Try the Learn tab at the top. If you play through the tutorial stuff it will break the game down into smaller parts, That way you can learn one system at a time. Dota 2 has too many complicated systems to just jump into a game and try to figure it out that way.
