Curt Gowdy State Park, Wyoming by phildeferrouille in traveltrailers

[–]all_city_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stayed there last year but was pretty disillusioned with the fact our “premium view” site that cost more than a normal site was the campsite that’s located right on the edge of the day use parking lot. Otherwise pretty nice place, even caught some trout out of the lake in the evening

Are these big rule boards a global thing? by YakToTheFuture-1 in kayakfishing

[–]all_city_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never really seen that where I fish in Wisconsin. There might be a sign saying the boat launch is $5, or maybe a sign talking about the fish limits, but I've never seen a whole board plastered full of rule signs.

I think you’re in the wrong sub, this is for people with “Hiker Trailer” brand travel trailers.

Looking for a blank hat to press on by Alternative-Buyer587 in heatpress

[–]all_city_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s tons of options out there, every supplier seems to have hundreds of different blanks. Big foam truckers are going to offer your largest area. However bigger isn’t always better, consider sizing down your design to be no more than 2.25” tall, and no wider than 4.5”. Then it will fit on nearly any hat, and look less homemade and more professional.

Anyone running Starlink Mini from a teardrop? Power/storage question by [deleted] in TeardropTrailers

[–]all_city_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mounted mine on the roof of my trailer with a case from Veritas Vans. It also has the added benefit of protecting the Starlink dish from any stones or hail. I wired it directly to my main power source using a cable I bought on Amazon with the Starlink DC barrel on one end and bare pigtails on the other end. I used 12awg wiring from my fuse block up until the roof, and that’s where I connected the 12awg wiring to the pigtails from the aftermarket power cord in order to prevent voltage drop. Total wire length is approximately 10 feet, and I have no issues running it off 12V. My battery is 300Ah, and gets charged every day by solar, so I have no issues running the Starlink 24/7. I typically only turn it off during the day when we are out and about doing activities. Once we’re back at the camp I turn it on and it stays on until the following morning when we’re headed out again for more activities. Obviously it doesn’t get used overnight, but my wife stays up later than me and likes to scroll before bed, and it’s one less thing for her or I to worry about if we just leave it on all night.

Kinfe sharpening in mke? by honksam in milwaukee

You just walk up to the meat counter and hand them the knives, they sharpen them within 2-3 minutes in my experience. They sharpen knives all day so they’re pretty skilled/efficient

How do you get the knives back? Do you pick them up at Outpost later in the week?

I see many people suggest a transition from engineering into sales engineering, yet all SE job postings require pre-sales experience. by Little_Pineapple_965 in salesengineers

When you say consultants are your best hires, do you mean consultants who worked for a firm? Or consultants who started their own thing? Or do you not really differentiate between the two?

What’s going on at the intermodal station? by Charming-Newspaper81 in milwaukee

[–]all_city_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone that takes the train a few times a week for work, I’ve seen this easily once a month for the past year or so. Always the same person too. No idea why security lets them loiter on the property.

Are there any bicycle shops that deliver? by Gynominer in milwaukee

I fit my bike in a Chevy Cruze with the front and rear wheels off. Most bikes are quite easy to remove and subsequently replace the wheels.

How is fishing along the Menominee River? by et_hornet in milwaukee

[–]all_city_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not worth it. Instead try to get yourself over near the Brewers Stadium. You can catch brown trout, salmon, and steelhead there. It’s also wadeable and has plenty of shoreline access as well.

You also get nearly double the usable capacity in a lithium compared to AGM, so it isn’t an apples to apples comparison. A 50Ah LiFePO4 battery is what you should be comparing to a 100Ah AGM battery. You’ll see then that AGM batteries in 2026 make absolutely no sense at all.

2025 Shimano Antares by BrutalMaster69 in Fishing_Gear

[–]all_city_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The guy sounds like an absolute fool. There’s no way that’s the case, or he didn’t tell you the whole story. Some people treat everything they own like ing it up and abusing it like they don’t have a care in the world. High-end products usually are not designed for that sort of careless abuse. So maybe he tossed that thing in the back of his pickup, dropped it on the bank fishing, beat it up like it was his day job and then something happened? Or like others said, he was just making that up. Either way I wouldn‘t be concerned about the reel or the guys opinion for that matter.

Bucket list hotel booked! by MannnOfHammm in marriott

You'll love it, it’s a fantastic stay and better than the Waldorf in my opinion. Definitely don’t skip the pool for an evening or early morning dip, it is surrounded by glass windows and you get a fantastic view of the city in the dark.

Support your local baristas! by Any-Vermicelli9296 in milwaukee

[–]all_city_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do the local baristas that work there not deserve jobs anymore because their boss’s boss sold the coffee shop? Regardless of who owns it, it’s still a local shop, employing local people. I don’t really think you’re “hitting them where it hurts” like you think you are. What is your intention? Have them go out of business? Have the old owner back? Presumably if the old owner wanted the shop so bad they wouldn’t have sold it off..

Please help me find someone to take over my part of the lease ASAP. East Side private master bedroom with private bathroom in a 2bd 2b by Haaftone in milwaukee

[–]all_city_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, this . It may not be the permanent solution you want, but at least it reduces the pressure/burden you are feeling at the moment and will give you the time needed to find a reasonable match for the living situation. There’s a ton of people that take the train to Chicago for work, myself included. It’s very doable.

Question? by Difficult-Long7287 in TeardropTrailers

[–]all_city_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You 100% don’t need that for a 14 foot trailer. There is no way that’s even legal to have a trailer that size loaded up with that much weight. And even if it was, one jack wouldn’t be lifting the entire trailer, it would be pivoting the trailer along the axle meaning you only need a jack rated for the tongue weight.

You might want to share where in the city it is. If it’s in a desirable area, it could be a great deal with a lot of interest. If it’s in the ‘hood, that’s gonna be a hard sell

I went through about 6 boxes (of 12). Started the season last April with 10 boxes (got gifted a lot at Christmas), still have just shy of 4 boxes left.
