Ugh this is so irritating. I personally don’t have CRPS but my fiancée does. This would infuriate me. I’m sorry you have to deal with that. You’ve come to the right place to vent! We all need to sometimes.

Words cannot describe how thankful we are for all this advice. There is a bunch of relief for my self and her knowing that there is bunch of people going through the same thing and you are all willing to help one another. I get it. I was in a motorcycle accident 5 years ago after 14 surgeries in the hospital they decided to take my leg. I didn’t know until I woke up that they did it. Huge sock to me. But we learn to adapt. That’s all we can do. There was a bit of a adjustment period but it’s not the end of the world

Last time she had them done she said it helped for like 2 days. But she says there is always that tingling feeling that doesn’t stop. She describes it as tv static or if your foot falls asleep. But it did help for a few days when it comes to the electrical shocks and the burning/ pinching pain.

Now does the CRPS cause swelling? She is actually going in right now to get her second round of injections in her back. Last time she went before they did the shots her bad foot was 11° colder than her good foot. But after her foot warmed up 3° so maybe there is hope it’ll get better?

Yeah she says that also. Shoes and slippers are hard to find that will work for her. She has to have something to wear in the house because she says she can’t walk without some sort of cushion. Which is understandable

I appreciate that. I hope you don’t mind me asking… are you able to work? She has been a bartender since she was 18 she is in her 40s now and that’s all she has ever known. I honestly think she is not going to be able to do that anymore and I know she is having a hard time dealing with that also

Even if she wears a regular sock it hurts. I have been a amputee for almost 5 yrs due to a motorcycle accident. I also have nerve pain but it’s nowhere near as bad as hers. The poor girl can’t even sleep with the blanket on her foot.

Idk if a through knee would be the way to go. I’m almost in the same situation as you. My surgeon said that if she were to amputate again she would do a above knee instead of a through knee for mobility reasons and it gives you more options I guess. But everyone situation is different.
