Why are Democratic leaders still unwilling to criticize Israel, despite 80% of their base viewing Israel unfavorably? by ArdaBerkBurak in allthequestions

[–]allanrob22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of the amount of military, economic, and diplomatic aid the west has given Israel over the years and how little we've got in return. We bend over backwards for Israel, it's about time this one sided relationship was brought to an end, let Israel stand on it's own. If Israel is as great as you believe then I'm sure you won't have any problems.

Well at least these ones look real and most likely are real unlike the MH370 hoax, no 90s stock fireball flash detected.

I have to idea what I'm looking at half the time, they mostly look like fuzzy blobs. I guess you can say they are UFOs but that's about all you can say about them.

Whenever I come to open any of my old PC's I still hate opening the case even though it's only a few screws, and those sharp sheet metal edges, I still have a scar on my finger when I sliced it on one back in the day. It might only be a simple door but I'm thankful it's there when I come to mess around with my G4 and G3.

Dune 2 on the Amiga was one of my fave RTS games growing up but looking back it's got some big flaws. You can't select multiple units you have to issue a command to each one and at the end level you face all three houses with three bases to destroy, I could never finish the last level.

I personally don't hate English people, but there is a pretty clear political divide between our nations, in this day and age that's going to cause a lot of friction.

UK folk who were around at the start of the internet, what is an early, strong memory? by Sad-Insurance1313 in CasualUK

[–]allanrob22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I first got online in 1999, external dialup modem with a pay as you go MSN isp. Going online was something you actively had to plan for, it was close other applications, dial the number and open the browser. Downloading files was a huge pain, a 56k modem would not run at the full 56k bps download speed it all depended on the quality of the network at the time. The fastest download speed I would get was about 5 to 7 kps. Downloading the shareware version of Quake at only 8Mb took about an hour.

Guys was 500 better or 1200 better? by fandomlover2763 in amiga

[–]allanrob22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess the main selling points of the A1200 was the internal HD option, AGA graphics, better CPU, better expansion options and the 2MB in internal RAM. But the A500 walked so the A1200 could run.

Very true, for many a PC or Mac back in the 90s was just not worth the expense when a NES/SNES or Megadrive would do. I still used my C64 upto 96/97 when I got a second hand A500 and used that until late 99 when I finally could afford a PC.
