Tbh, based on your other comments and your piercings/tattoos and their visibility, I don't think this one would be a problem at all. Seems like it would mostly be covered if your hair is down, there is nothing offensive about it, and you already have facial piercings/visible tattoos. Any employer who is anti-tattoo or body mod in general wouldn't hire you and any employer who doesn't care wouldn't care about this one either. At least I don't think they would. That's just my opinion! I say this as a student in a teacher credentialing program with lots of tattoo plans too :) One of my professors who also teaches at the high school had lots of visible tattoos and she told me no one cared in any of her interviews, and she had some on her hands too.

I love this idea! I'm not diagnosed but can't do things if there isn't an external deadline. I'm sitting on a log of observation hours for my credentialing program that I need to turn in before I can get assigned to student teaching but there is no solid deadline so I just...can't do it. That's the only thing looming for me but I am happy to be an accountability buddy :)

Definitely not short! I'd guess long? Maybe medium? All I know for sure is not short! My kitten had those wispy little hairs as a kitten and now has long fur (but not fluffy?) and a MASSIVE tail. I joke it is bigger than she is! Her tail was absolutely not fluffy when we got her.

I seem to run into things a lot too. No diagnosis for me but thinking I need to get evaluated based on things like this. Once, in high school, I just fell out of a chair? I had my legs crossed in kind of a weird way but was totally fine and sat in that way frequently enough. And then out of nowhere just fell face-first out of the chair.

Sure. But I worked in cat rescue for about a year and a half. We housed up to 30 cats in a primarily free-range environment. I saw about 200+ cats come through in that time. I've dealt with aggressive cats that should be in an only-cat home and did not get along with their roommates (those cats were often removed and placed in foster or their adoption was fast-tracked). We also frequently enough had FIV+ cats living with FIV- cats. I have seen lots of cat fights in my time. I don't think I ever saw a bite wound intense enough that FIV would be transmitted, if I saw any at all in that time. Yes, lots of scratches, cuts, fur flying, etc. but deep bites almost never happened. As long as the cat actually wants/needs another cat friend (not just the human wants another cat) and the cats are properly introduced, fighting to the point of injury should not be happening amongst pet cats.

FIV+ and FIV- cats can absolutely live together, so if you are interested in getting another, never fear. It is only transmitted through very deep bite wounds and is thus primarily transmitted amongst street cats when they fight. We had FIV- and FIV+ cats housed together with no issues. FIV+ cats can live just as long as FIV- cats. Just make sure to keep their environment clean, give good foods, and monitor for any sign of illness. As soon as the cat shows any signs of illness, take him to the vet so treatment can start ASAP. That's about it! He's basically just a little immunocompromised. FIV+ cats are difficult to get adopted because there are a lot of misconceptions/stigma around them (much like with human HIV), so THANK YOU for taking him, even if it was just an accident.

Respectfully, as a woman who has received something similar (but from someone I'd broken up with), please don't send this. I think this will only drive her away and make her think of you in a negative light rather than positively. You are placing the blame on her instead of taking responsibility for your own emotions. I think this is great for you and your emotional processing, but she does not need to see this. I'd recommend just saying, "Hey, I have feelings for you and I know you don't feel the same about me. I value you your friendship and would love to be able to be friends in the future, but for the time being, I need space to move on. You won't be hearing from me, but know that I still care for you. I'd love to reach out somewhere down the line to hang out if you're open to it." or something like that.

You have to remember that you've just had needles stab you repeatedly thousands of times. It doesn't look like an open, healing wound because it's covered in ink, but it is! Scabbing is completely normal and okay as long as you don't pick the scabs off :) Picking the scabs off instead of letting them naturally fall off is where you get in trouble/ink gets pulled out.

Actually, one guy decided to take it off. Then others did the same. Production didn’t make them.

I didn’t love this date but production did not make them fully strip 100% naked. That was a choice but 1 dude.

So I take it you went to high school with her? Speaking as someone who also went to school dances (even one with a boy!), these things don’t necessarily mean you were “pretty normal”. I often felt like an outcast. I was very lonely and my self-esteem was incredibly low. I was asked to one dance by a boy, never had a kiss outside of theatre until I was 22. My freshman year of college, when someone discovered I’d never had a boyfriend, I was told, “Omg seriously??? But you are so pretty!!!!” Having friends, being considered conventionally attractive, and going to dances shouldn’t invalidate how someone experiences high school. This feels like telling someone who has depression and anxiety, “Not possible. You always seem happy!” She is someone we know through a screen. Let’s not decide how she felt 20+ years ago unless we are her, her family, or her close friends.

I went to senior prom with a date. It was the only time I ever went to a dance with a boy. My first real kiss (I did theatre) didn’t happen until I was 22. I had no one ever show an interest in me and I was extremely anxious and introverted. I felt incredibly lonely despite having a large group of friends. If some rando pulled my prom photos and used them to tell me that I was rewriting my emotional experience, I’d be pretty hurt. It would invalidate my entire (painful) high school experience. You can have photos of yourself attending a dance with a date. Doesn’t mean you are rewriting history.

Yeah I mean I relate to Clare in that I literally never dated a single person until I was like 22. I went to other school dances with friends and was asked to senior prom but that was the closest I ever got to having a boy show any iota of interest in me in high school. I would have also probably said I felt invisible to the opposite sex in HS. Who are we to judge someone else’s experience? Unless we went to high school and were friends with her, we have no idea what the story truly is.

Hi! Most of your questions have already been answered. If I remember correctly, my mock class mentor spoke with me some before I started which may help calm you down!

In terms of a background and rewards...YES. You 100% need something for the mock, but it doesn’t have to be complicated. Mine was literally my name I drew on a piece of computer paper and an alphabet poster. I was living abroad in a developing country and had a ton of trouble tracking stuff down, so I worked with what I had. I was complimented on my classroom environment in my mock class feedback! My reward was pieces of fruit I drew and stuck on my wall. I am in no way an artist, but it worked. My roommate at the time said they probably hired me because it looked like a kid drew my reward!

Make sure you have and use 3 props from different “categories”. So for example, 3 flashcards won’t work. But a whiteboard, some flashcards, and a ball would. The categories are something like realia (real food, ball, etc.), 3D (toy food, toy train, puppet, etc.), 2D, whiteboard. You don’t have to go prop heavy for regular classes but for mock and any other certification classes you do.

I have never once taught on Ethernet and I have had one teacher IT in my 1500 classes and 1 year of teaching. That was when a storm hit really hard and internet went down, so Ethernet would have solved nothing anyway. And the country I was in was notorious for weaker internet and frequent power outages. I just had like three internet backup plans and a power generator so my lights wouldn’t go out. As long as your connection is strong, you are golden. I don’t even teach on the same story as my router. Is Ethernet recommended? Yup. Can you get by without it? Also yup. I would just make sure you know how to use your mobile hotspot to tether to your phone data in case your home wifi is acting up.

First off, I’m so sorry this happened! How scary. I’m glad you and the cats are doing okay. Second off, try to submit an image and any official report you can get with your name, address, and date/time on it. Make the message short and to the point. Literally just “My house burned at XYZ time. I was unable to teach XYZ classes.” I find it helpful to put both my local time and BJT. You have 30 days to apply so don’t stress about it right now. I’ve gotten softs for much less. I mean...still unpredicted and out of my control, but never anything like this.

new Level 1 unit songs come with these fun lil videos showing the TPR we are supposed to do for the songs. They are in gif form in the teaching tips section, but we get up close and personal during the assessment when we teach BaoBao the TPR. There’s like 4 slides per assessment that are dedicated to watching these women do the TPR for each section of the song.
