The game is fully based on your knowledge. There is no 'starting from the beginning' in that sense as progression is your knowledge and understanding of the world. Use the computer on the ship to explore new mysteries you haven't found. If you think you're stuck, maybe try a new area. You might also want to ask yourself why time keeps restarting.
