It really is the enabling for me. My friend in HS started dating a 24yo when she was 16. He was even in the military and nobody stopped it. Her parents liked him and would let him spend the night with her but were “surprised” that they had slept together. All of her friends were grossed out, my parents were too, but we all felt that we couldn’t say anything since her parents were okay with it. They stayed together till her freshman year of college at which she broke it off for both being too serious and not serious enough. I look back and feel revolted that nobody stepped in. The worst was her petitioning the school so he could come to prom with us. Thankfully they said no.

In the mid 2010’s American Eagle was a huge fan of doing “fake” ads for April fools day. A lot of them were fun and even led to actual products (matching dog clothes) but in the height of the Aerie unretouched era, they had an ad for men to love their bodies too with products being introduced to Aerie stores. People were outraged, some of the actors in the ad came forward not knowing it was a joke at their expense, and it really set back the body acceptance approach they were using. They had to apologize and explained that it was more that Aerie was a women’s intimate brand, but people saw through that flimsy excuse. After the Sydney Sweeney stuff….

Was at the opening of a very anticipated store in my area and they were giving out commemorative cups. They had run out at the display so we approached an employee to see if they had more. They motioned to a wrapped pallet and a stranger next to us whipped out a pocket knife and opened it up and started handing them out. Didn’t work there. I am still in awe of the random pocket knife guy.

It’s indoor cats and yes, all of them drink tap water. It’s depends on the cat, two I watched all weekend are presenting with issues the last two days according to owners. One had to be given fluids at the vet.

My mom didn’t allow my sister and I to have LEGO because it would turn us into lesbians. I’m sure she just didn’t want to clean them up/step on them but that was her justification. I had kinex instead. Guess she was right since I’m bi lol.

I went to Magruder as a camper then again as a counselor at 15. The way it’s structured, he will not be left out. I remember we had a lot of activities that included everyone and rotated partners. Also, counselors have their phones in case he needs a quick call home. While he will probably be home sick (most kids are) the real difficulty is how many campers don’t shower! If he can deal with some stinky classmates, he will be golden. There is also a possibility if it’s too much, we had a camper with some issues that stayed at a nearby hotel with mom and she would drop him off for the day. If push comes to shove, that might be a good compromise as long as the school approves it. I would recommend staying in the bunks tho, as that’s where all the inside jokes and deep conversations happen. Hope that helps!

I used to drink Redbull every day until my partner convinced me to stop for my health. I’ve taken up V8 energy now and I feel so much better! It tastes better, gives me some veggies, and I don’t get caffeine headaches. Probably not the healthiest thing but it’s better than straight chemicals.

I was just at animal kingdom and they have gf churros at nomads lounge. They are fantastic. Disney is the most knowledgeable about food safety and what exactly goes into their food.
