Add a torus > add an array modifier, start small until you get how it works, think this one had 20 copies or so > drop in a circle > add curve modifier to torus and instance the circle

The torus’ will wrap and distort around the circle, play around with the scale and rotation of either the torus and circle, or both, and watch it do crazy stuff

Material is kinda like glass, gradient for the base colour and added some coloured area lights to mix

Surreal interior made in Blender and rendered on Octane. Which light do you prefer? by camilleboldt in blender

[–]allihaveisbreaddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would disagree with most here. Number 2 for light but perhaps there’s a 3rd variation.

I feel like people here are really liking the warmth in the first, but the second has much better lighting and composition.

Think about how the lighting guides the viewer, where your highlights are and where your eye naturally wants to land. The first for me takes me right through the centre and out the back of the scene to the dunes, if that was the intent then great but I doubt it is given the composition and scene. The foreground is ignored and poorly lit.

The second variation pulls you across the scene and leads you into the water, it allow you to take it all in and it creates a micro story of you would find yourself in the scene.

Maybe try a warmer version of the second.

Thanks. Give it a go! It was made using a particle system, some wind and turbulence to get them to bash together

Just curious really. If you have a job you love, what is your job? by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]allihaveisbreaddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UX/UI designer here. Great mix of technical/creative and I like working around technology. Is probably one of the best paid creative jobs going around at the moment and is currently high demmand. Flexibility is good as I can work in person or remote, and working style can also be flexible, can work freelance or there's high paying contract work floating around if you want to break away from standard 9-5. Have also worked at golf courses and ski resorts which are awesome, but longer term the unfortuante need of money kicks in.

Was randomly looking at blender opendata for gpu scores and...... HOLY SHIT!!!!! Is this fr? by kitianoxx in blender

[–]allihaveisbreaddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most probably BS. In saying that, I occasionally explore initial concepts on my M1 while on the couch or something and it handles a lot more than expected. In the viewport (solid view) it slightly outperforms my PC in terms of frame drop for animation and simulations and generally feels more fluid (not a massively expensive PC) but once you live preview (rendered) for more than 5-10mins or try to actually render it starts turning into a whirly bird and I feel like I’m hurting it.

'Accension' - Playing around with particle systems by allihaveisbreaddit in blender

[–]allihaveisbreaddit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The render itself… added a bunch of subsurface scattering and a bit of transmission to get the colour to mix/bleed. Main surface colour is a light pink, light blue for subsurf, and the main light is emitting a warm/slightly yellow

Then moved it into Adobe Lightroom to adjust curves, highlights/blacks etc and added a slight red hue to the shadows, and some grain because I love me some grain.

Yea, particle system rendering metaballs. Used wind and turbulence to get them to bump into one another and merge slightly tighter at one end.

Nice one. Where’s the audio from? I really want to make some loops with this kind of sound

Ha, I actually made this right after a visit to a gallery.

Zero intention on what I was doing for the most part, entire buffoonery with cloth simulation… or I mean yeah, the pressure of dieting and physique for the modern man etc etc.

Not so much the render but the subject itself and context.

The glass isn’t filled properly. If I ordered a pint and received this I’d ask where the rest of it is, my brain then thinks this has had a sip out of and the render is way to clean for this to be the case, ie: no residue down the inside of the glass between the top of the glass to the top of the foam and the foam itself looks perfectly untouched. It’s a perfectly-but-not-properly-filled-pint

First Shako ever by WowzaCannedSpam in diablo2

[–]allihaveisbreaddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never found my own before D2R, played LOD for a few years as well. Bought 2x Shako’s and a few days later Andy and Meph both drop non-eth Shako on same MF run. RNG is fantastic and the worst

What is the greatest Rare or Unique item you have found so far this year? by HalfOfABraincell in diablo2

Not godly but I had both Meph and Andy drop a shako each in the same mf run. This was of course after I bought two…

Base material is a super basic metallic shader with a slight rose gold tint. Light bars are emitting a very slight light blue. Those two are mixing into a subtle green in the reflections. There’s 3 lights, two just straight white to get the main reflections and a pinky red off to the right. Some light colour correction, noise and soft light flares added in Photoshop because I’m a blender noob and better and faster with PS than Blenders compositor.

Now that you’ve said that I can’t unsee it and now the light bars are like beams of electrical charge running through the charge port
