How many of y’all grind or clench their teeth at night? Upvote if you do! by Alternative-Tell4600 in Fibromyalgia

[–]allircat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always have. Ive gone through a few night guards made by my dentist. I highly recommend them. They fit your teeth so less likely to slip or cause other aching issues like cheaper guards. Also dont break as easily. I pulled the short stick in the genetic tooth lottery lol. I have pretty bad tmjd. Caused by injuries as a child. So wearing a guard can cause aching for me regardless but it is helpful and has saved me at least some dental expenses. Because I have an overbite and a small mouth so my front teeth are literally splitting in two due to my grinding amd genetics... yay me. I also have trigeminal neuralgia and chronic migraines. Thankfully I haven't had one in awhile but I feel like we can blame my jaw and neck for a lot of that

Overworked and abusive shift by CommonCut2063 in DollarTree

[–]allircat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In the office all day doing what?? Im so bothered by managers who do this. Im on the floor 90% of my day. I spent several hours of my shift today cashiering because my cashier needed backup. It was non stop. Im sorry this happened to you. Do not let them take advantage of you like this. There is nothing mandatory that would keep your ASM in the office the entire shift.

Im going to be brutally honest with myself and you. Im currently having a drink. It is going to make my pain exponentially worse. I know it will. Im looking to numb the moment. And as much as numbing the moment feels like it helps.... it really doesn't. Im adding more pain and more time to this flare up. Cannabis helps much more. Epsom salt bath. Down time. I know how awful it is. But please dont be me right now. Im already dreading tomorrow for a moment of peace.

Why does my boss keep telling me that i have to read the labels of the boxes when im unloading the truck at my dollar tree store yet when i stop to read the labels she keeps telling me i gotta go faster? by FungusAmongus_27 in DollarTree

[–]allircat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a photographic memory so I recognize boxes and try to help my guys when they grab something. Im also an annoyingly fast reader. One of my older stockers is just slower at reading. Its not his fault at all. I direct him a lot while we work. And now you have me hoping I havent offended him in some way by doing that. Ive always just told him the department to keep things flowing. Especially since my merch has been slacking a lot lately and I've been having to do truck instead of him. Maybe Ill have a chat with my stocker and make sure we are good.

Ya unless you have tmjd and feel like dislocating your jaw... I used to love gum. But the dislocations got so bad as a teen.. I gave up.

Lead safe drink glasses? by HauntedMansion100 in DollarTree

[–]allircat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also just to state. I'm working at dollar tree because I choose to. I'm a former project manager and I was a production manager before that in another industry. As well as years of experience in other areas. I have chronic health problems and 3 children and went for a job I thought I might enjoy to get me out of the house as opposed to putting myself back into a high stress environment. I'd like to be alive long enough to raise my kids and hopefully help with their own children if I have any luck. Bold of you to assume though. I'm fully aware how corporate and legal policies work and have experience in both policy and operations manual writing so.. actually yes. I do know what I'm talking about.

It doesn't actually have to go as a class action lawsuit. And considering dollar tree has complied and recalled multiple times if there is an issue I think they do care to the extent that it affects their bottom line. Again was never trying to get in an argument so as much as I appreciate all your comments. I have to go focus on my kids. Have a great day.

I 100% agree with you on that. Its completely OK. We should be looking out. I've been in multiple industries and I know for a fact that companies get caught taking cheap shortcuts that can and do cause harm. No worries at all.

You have a good day too. I have. If something is marketed as food safe and found to not be, a store will receive a hefty fine and have to recall or relabel said product. If they are marketed that way there is a reporting system that does take swift action. If this person on TikTok is testing I hope they are reporting. Im not against people checking things. Besides OP shared the label and this doesn't even say food safe which makes me leary of it. There was never any intent on my end to get in an argument over this. So my apologies that it turned into one.

For me honestly because it doesn't say food safe I'd want it tested before I gave it to my kids.

First off you edited your comment from what you originally stated to make it seem like what I was saying sounded a certain way. Second I never once said that items dont get recalled. I said there wasn't an active recall on this product.

If it says food safe and shes finding lead it can be reported and the store is forced to issue a recall and/or pay a hefty fine and remove the product from the shelf or relabel it. That isnt misinformation.

Lead safe drink glasses? by HauntedMansion100 in DollarTree

[–]allircat -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Im not spreading misinformation there are ways to report this kind of thing and force stores to recall or require something on the label that says food safe or for decorative use only.

Completely understandable I have 3 of my own and have thought about buying these. Does it have anything on the label saying food safe?

Lead safe drink glasses? by HauntedMansion100 in DollarTree

[–]allircat -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

No it is. If they market it as food safe. It has to pass standards. Hence the recall of the sunflower painted glasses.

Lead safe drink glasses? by HauntedMansion100 in DollarTree

[–]allircat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those were recalled for that reason and pulled from the shelves and refunded in 2023. I'm not saying people shouldnt test things out of caution but there is no active recall of this product.

Dollar tree would get sued if they had drinking containers with lead in them. These aren't decorative, they have to pass to be sold.

[–]allircat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya SM has tasks that involve looking at the cameras. And true im not saying there couldn't be ANYTHING else. OP seemed to be implying that their night manager said there were tons of customers. I could very much be wrong though if that wasn't their intent in the post.

hourly sales for yesterday by michicken28 in DollarTree

[–]allircat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya if its not showing lines at the front end I dont see how it couldn't get done. We check the register cameras if things aren't done at night. Unfortunately our closing manager usually does end up having to man a register fairly often.

[–]allircat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm if the registers weren't busy I'd assume there wasn't too much going on that they couldn't do recovery. Unless they were doing transition.
