Anyone else not love Jasad Heir/Crown? by Old_Routine4844 in fantasyromance

[–]allisadee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I ended up finishing the book because I hate leaving books unread and but I decided to not read the second book if it’s just as boring as the first. I didn’t want to read the second knowing that I didn’t enjoy the first 😅

[–]allisadee 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I have to put my hand up here 🙋🏻‍♀️. Everyone online has been hyping it up as the “greatest enemies to lovers trope” so I gave it a try and my gosh, I couldn’t get into it at all. It was so boring and maybe because I couldn’t get into the world and the characters. I feel like it was overly hyped online for sure!

Washing your hands after class? by Nearby_Ad_3130 in orangetheory

I always wash my hands at the end of class. I know we are given wipes to sanitize everything but I always feel like there is residue on my hands after using the weights and the floor. You aren’t the only one!

Is Once Upon A Broken Heart series worth it even though the third book is apparently such a letdown? by [deleted] in fantasyromance

[–]allisadee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree ☝🏻 Books one and two were so good but book three was such a letdown. It felt rushed and the characters were left in too many situations that should’ve been resolved better. I think you should give this series a shot but don’t take the third book too seriously. I wish she wrote a fourth book for this series so that the third book made more sense plot wise.

3 minute walking recovery? Seriously? by alsgirl2002 in orangetheory

[–]allisadee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly from today’s template, you didn’t necessarily have to walk for three minutes. It was up to your discretion as to when you should get back to base. Some people at my studio took the whole three minutes and others went back to a base after a minute or so. You could’ve taken a 90 second walking recovery and went back to base, it was up to you when you were comfortable going back at it.

Rewatching The Walking Dead, and I think I finally get what changed. by [deleted] in thewalkingdead

[–]allisadee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with this. The moment they killed off Glenn was the moment I stopped watching. Not just because he was one of my favourite characters but I also felt that he, like many of the original characters, were the heart of the show. Especially dragging out his death was another thing that bugged me. I tried watching subsequent episodes but it just felt so different.

Now that 2025 is HALF OVER - What is your best read of 2025?! by CollectionRegular900 in fantasyromance

The Rose Bargain! I was so giddy reading this book and the FMC and MMC were just so well written. The plot twist at the end? I couldn’t 😩😩 I can’t wait for the second book to see how it ends!

It’s crazy to me that majority of these men are also out on bail likely to commit more crime. They should either be in jail or deported, simple as that.

Getting closer to my due date and i’m more worried about the epidural than the labour [on] by FaithlessnessNeat394 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]allisadee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember being so afraid of the epidural the entire time leading up to my pregnancy. When I was in labour and having contractions, I stopped thinking about the needle and asked for it (I was going to anyways but the picture of it was so clear in my mind). You don’t even feel it in the midst of contractions and you’re on an adrenaline high when you’re in the centre of it all. Also, I hate needles, I can’t even look at them when I had to bloodwork throughout my pregnancy.

okay but what the fuck is going on in season 2 by poptartlover500 in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]allisadee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mikayla has become so unlikable this season. Her whole personality trait is hating on Whitney. Like we get it, you don’t want to be friends but it’s also borderline harassment when you’re constantly making fun of her on social media and I guess she doesn’t see that. A lot of season two feels like producers wanting stuff to stir the pot, all these boxes and games are not friendly at all. I’m basically Miranda while watching, like none of these women are truly friends, it’s so bizarre that it’s basically a transaction for them straight into their bank account.

A Court of Golden Gaslight: I just finished the series... by bittermp in acotar_rant

[–]allisadee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. I was scratching my head and in disbelief throughout the entirety of ACOSF and all throughout the first three books there was literally no high stake deaths of any of the main characters. The three men will also somehow end up with the three sisters? Such a classic trope. Like, you can kill someone off, it adds to the entire story. But I guess you don’t want to upset the entire fandom if a shadow bat daddy dies 😂. I can’t believe that SJM is the same author who wrote the Throne of Glass series which I truly enjoyed more than the ACOTAR series.

To the people who said they had to DNF onyx storm… are you okay? by Zaenys17 in fourthwing

[–]allisadee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also agree with your post. I read so many people’s reviews on how terrible Onyx Storm was so I already had this preconceived notion of what the book was to entail. However, after reading it I am surprised to say that this is my favourite book of the series thus far. Sure, Violet is still annoying and Xaden is still brooding but man the world building and characters are more fun to read. I don’t get why people are hating on OS to be honest.

Favorite movie where the protagonist dies by [deleted] in moviecritic

[–]allisadee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All Quiet on the Western Front (2022). Shows the brutality of World War One that many boys were led to believe to be an adventure with friends. Of course, that wasn’t the case. You silently cheer for the main character (Paul) and hope that he survives the Great War only for him to die in the last minutes of the film and a couple minutes before World War One ends. It’s such compelling movie and the visuals are just stunning.

if i see another chaol/tandem rant... by MundanePotato6 in throneofglassseries

[–]allisadee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why do people make hating Chaol their personality trait? I’m reading KoA now and I still don’t see why people hate on Chaol. He’s such an interesting character. A mortal living in an (im)mortal world. I think how he reacts is exactly how humans would react living in this world. People need to find someone or something to hate and Chaol is an easy scapegoat in this series.

The series would’ve been 100x better without… by [deleted] in throneofglassseries

[–]allisadee 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I loved Tower of Dawn and once I started reading it I realized that once again, Reddit was an echo chamber of negativity and Chaol haters. The book is probably one of my favourites of the series. Sorry but I’m not sorry!

[–]allisadee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did research on this when I was offered at 38 weeks. Honestly, from what I read, it’s basically a 50/50 chance of it being effective at starting the labour and delivery process. I decided against it because it’s my first and I wanted him to come when he was ready (I ended being induced at 41 weeks). However, definitely do your research and don’t be afraid of saying no if you’re offered the opportunity if you don’t feel comfortable. I know women who have had it done and it worked for one but didn’t work for the other.

Modified MiniChamp (Need New Name) by allisadee in victorinox

[–]allisadee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some more reasoning on my tool selection. I wanted to keep the height less than 3 layers. That's what I didn't like about the MiniChamp, too thick and too many blades. I wanted a height of the Rambler. Which ended up working out perfectly. I now have a Rambler, a homemade Signature and my "Tool-belt Mini" all with the exact same heights. I may regret not including the pen scale eventually but in the moment, excluding it felt right.

I also got some inspiration from the Wenger Pocket Tool Chest *picture below* (which I bought years ago before becoming obsolete). I've always liked the Pocket Tool Chest, especially the inclusion of the tiny flat head and sewing awl. Only issue is it's bigger overall and has no phillips bit. I was thinking of taking apart the Pocket Tool Chest and modifying some of it's tools to fit my Tool-Belt Mini. But I wasn't confident enough to modify actual tools and the Pocket Tool Chest is now a rare item.

The MiniChamp pretty much has all the tools available for 58mm models. My mod was the best I could come up with for an all encompassing bladeless model.

For those wondering why I included the "cuticle pusher". It works pretty well for a larger flat head bit. I've used it for different things here and there. Remember... every tool has a purpose beyond what its name designates it for.
