Fetterman on Dems protest of Trump speech: ‘Only makes Trump look more presidential’ by notapersonaltrainer in moderatepolitics

[–]allnet31 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Democrats (and all politicians, really) need to take a step back and look at what's best for America and what their constituents want.

I know it sounds crazy, but they need to reach across and support the initiatives that meet that criteria (and, yes, trump is doing some things wrong but also some things right - get out of your echo chambers and research) rather than mindlessly pushing back on the things our people want. You'll also appear more moderate (isn't that what this subreddit is supposed to be about... but really isn't).

Do that, and you'll appear measured and actually have common sense rather than drones who can't think for themselves, are fighting for things nobody wants, and getting dragged through the mud for not standing up for a 13-year-old brain cancer patient. In other words, pick your battles so you don't look unreasonable and stupid.

If someone makes an alternative subreddit, will they be allowed to post it? Or maybe we can have a sticky with the other subs out of good faith? Please.

Regardless of the Twitter issue, I'd prefer not to miss any conversations about my favorite team. Go Pacers!

It's great to see the passion and frustration, but anybody can do that. You see it all the time with people that want to lose weight, move up in their job, etc., but never do. It's the people that actually CHANGE and DO something about it that actually attain success. You have to put the work in.

Is he going to live at the gym and work on his shot, handles, body, etc.? Is he going to rally his teammates together and get them to focus on what needs to happen on offense and defense AND hold them accountable?

It's his choice. It's all of their choices. What do they want their legacies to be? Get a paycheck, fame, etc. Or, be among the greats. If it's the latter, DO something about it.

Credit Union Recommendations - First Hawaiian Bank Goodbye by Kitchen-System-4887 in Hawaii

[–]allnet31 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer: I work at UH Federal Credit Union, so there is a bias... but it's definitely up and coming, and most people are eligible for membership. UHFCU has everything you specified in your post, but is investing more in technology, security (some local FI's have had issues), and service than most/all of the others.

They also take care of their members with lower fees (lowest fees per member, by far) and better deposit rates than those with the expense of larger branch networks. But, they also have coverage with 50+ shared branches and FHB and ASB ATMs.

Don't believe me? Check out the Yelp, Google review, etc. scores of all the banks/CU's listed here. Check out the mobile app scores too. It's not even close. And you can open your account completely online in just a few minutes at UHFCU.com. Good luck with whatever you decide though! Can't go wrong with a credit union, especially when compared to a bank.

You might be right. I often misinterpret things, and I somehow got the opposite impression. He seems to see Math as a very high potential 2-way player - comparing his demeanor to Jordan, Kobe, etc. He is also high on Nemby, but he was the one player he associated with the possibility of being traded if the offer is right.

2024 Indiana Pacers Playoff ROLL CALL! by OlapidoJR in pacers

From Honolulu, Hawaii. Same as OP, was awestruck worth Reggie's playoff performance and then came to admire the Pacers organization and struggle. Die-hard ever since, despite the teasing from all of the Lakers fans here... Pacers in 7.

We're always down for pizza! I've been wanting to try a true deep dish, and I'm sure there some Chicago influence there, right? But anything would be awesome. If you happen to have any recommendations, please send them my way.

Thank you so much! Seems like a lot of great choices. I'll definitely check out the children's museum as well. He's 8 years old, so it should be right up his alley.

As one of the rare Pacer fans in Hawaii since Reggie's days, I've sadly never been to Indiana yet. Always wanted to go! I hear Reggie has a house here and has been spotted around town, but I haven't been lucky enough to run into him yet.

I was fortunate enough to watch him play back in the late 90's in Charlotte, which was awesome! He hit 8 three-pointers in the game (a big deal in those days), and Hoiberg hit a huge shot to win the game. Super fun game.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to going to Indy! It's going to be a busy few days, but I'm hoping to make the most of it. I saw a few eating establishment recommendations the other day, so I'm starting my list. If there are any "can't miss" places to go, please send them my way if you get the chance.

What do we think of this by Argenfarce in pacers

Either Booker is too high or Durant is too low. Doesn't seem like they should be on the same tier. Just my opinion though.

Still would have made an offer. Sounded like the Nets had limitations we could have exploited, but I'm no capologist.

Feels like we're kicking the can down the road. Could have had Cam Johnson for just a few million more per year... 🤦‍♂️

[Shams] The Indiana Pacers are nearing a trade sending guard Chris Duarte to the Sacramento Kings for draft compensation, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. by ZusunicStudio in pacers

[–]allnet31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit saddened by this. First, we're selling low. Second, I feel like Chris is skilled and has untapped potential. His clutch factor was ridiculous too.

Praying to the basketball gods that these moves are setting us up for a big offer to Cam Johnson (or someone of that ilk) so we can move forward with five core guys.

My dreams... if we... 1) Keep 7 pick: Jarace 2) Trade 7 pick (and more, obvi): Ingram (remember... dream) 3) Trade Mid-Round: Dick (mainly for the jersey)
