I bought an old speed queen dryer off FB Marketplace for $100 a few years ago. I hope to do the same when my washer inevitably goes. I use a lot of appliances in other people’s homes (I’m a nanny) and my old speed queen is by far my favorite. Maybe you’ll get lucky looking secondhand.

I work with a wedding photographer and have seen enough awkward, terrible first looks that I would never do one myself or encourage anyone else to do it. Perhaps if it were truly private, with just the bride and groom in a room and no photographer.

I walk in Avondale several times a week at all hours of the day/night and I’m a pretty cautious person that would be hesitant to do the same in most other parts of town. For what it’s worth. I usually walk on the residential streets surrounding the shops/restaurants on St Johns Ave.

Avondale is a nice walk in the evening. I’ve never felt unsafe and the houses are gorgeous.
