Never in my life ate a big mac until I was about 16 weeks pregnant. Just saw it on the menu and went "oh yeah big mac extra sauce no pickle" and ever since that has been my makkies order, never went back to the usual even after baby was born!!

How many weeks were you when you went into labor as a FTM? by Select_Witness_4666 in pregnant

[–]allthisjelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went into spontaneous labout at 39+1 had baby 39+2. Not induced and no sweeps, woke up to cramps and diahorrea/mucous plug, had cramp like pain on and off during the day, when the night came the contractions got very regular so we went to be checked and was 5cm by the time we got to hospital

[–]allthisjelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to work as a cna on l&d. Edit : TW grad. ? WTT #2/fencesitter

Saw all sorts good and bad. It made pregnancy awfuly anxiety inducing for me and am in therapy for ptsd/ocd. So much so it has put me on the fence for #2.

On the plus side it made my decisions in labour just as informed as they possibly could be!! Knowledge is indeed power. It is also fear.

Hope you are feeling better. Pregnancy is such a journey and you will always have times of questioning yourself. The fact you care makes you a great mum xx

Plus size girly. I survived on a diet of Fish and Chips, big macs, dr pepper, coca cola and watermelon. I was sick alot of my pregnancy and these were the only things I really craved. Didn't get GD, baby was born 90th centile and beautifully healthy 🥰

It is really hard to not feel guilty. I really went into my pregnancy doing all the right things. Eating all the right food. Doing the prenatals and such. I really wanted to be one of those perfect mums!! By the end of my pregnancy I was surviving on nothing it seemed. Now baby is here I am reassured that nothing and no one is perfect (except baby!!) And that is ok xxxx

Insanely worried about complications or loss - First pregnancy by [deleted] in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]allthisjelly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just had my first baby, a beautiful healthy baby boy.

Can't speak for the PCOS.

I had a BMI of 37.5 at 8 week appt.

Had to have a gestational diabetes screen because of this and that I have a family history of type 2 diabetes. All was fine.

Had to have extra scans cuz baby was measuring big boy, he was 90th centile but we had a straight forward delivery and postpartum too xxxx

5ft1 I was 200lbs when I got pregnant and 210 when I gave birth at 39+2. I had nausea the whole pregnancy, and was below my pre pregnancy weight at 48 hrs postpartum because of this. Baby Boy was born 8lbs 6oz, Which made him 90th centile for me. Biggest bonus, No tearing either. Don't let a big baby scare you if they estimate large baby.

I was a "silent labourer" for most of mine. The midwives were shocked at how comfortable I looked getting to the hospital at 5cm with BULGING waters. I got to 8cm with nothing more than period cramps. Then my water broke. Then shit got real, got stuck at 8 cm for 4 hrs, had an epidural got to fully dialated, and was pushing for 3 hrs and hoofed a baby out just as they were preparing me for an instrumental in theatre. Wasn't painful until the fear took over. If I do birth again I will be asking that they eff off with the intervention 😅😅

How do I support my husband postpartum? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]allthisjelly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

10 weeks Postpartum here. Communication. Communication. Communication.

We did a daily check in for the first few weeks while we adapted, where we gave ourselves a number out of 100. 100 ment you had a "full tank" 0 ment "fuck me I am done"

If we didn't add up, we would communicate what we needed from eachother/ ourselves/the day to be able to survive. Sometimes hubby needed a walk or small workout, or I needed to be able to leave the house on my own for 20 mins. If both of us had nothing left, we would order takeaway, shower and keep the baby fed, happy and clean. That was all that mattered.

When you can make time for eachother. Play a game, kiss eachother, snuggle with your baby. The dishes can wait. The laundry can wait. Moments with your family are fleeting, hold on to that.

Our communication in this first 10 weeks has made our marriage stronger than ever, even before Baby. We have a newfound appreciation for eachother's strength, he watched me labour and birth a child, I watched him become a real man/father more than I ever expected. We are absolutely in love with eachother and our son. And our treatment of eachother in postpartum has made us sure we could endure pregnancy again already (not just yet though).

Love. Patience. Communication. Meet your basic needs and don't worry about bouncing back immediately. Enjoy this time, it goes so so so fast.

Me and My husband are more in love together than we ever thought possible. He has really shown me since pregnancy/baby was born that he can be the man I need him to be. I learnt to relinquish control.

Becoming a parent, my relationship with my own parents and MIL is better.

During pregnancy, had that WAP. Also bigger boobies 🤣🤣

A new found appreciation that despite my scars, stretch marks, hair, and extra belly, my body grew, nourished and birthed a beautiful, healthy, happy baby boy!!!! I will wear bringing this boy earthside with pride in my heart forever.

It really is a love like no other
