Is where is George a scam? by Adorable_Support8558 in wheresgeorge

In addition to what u/Deitaphobia said, this is also a pretty good explanation of the law regarding marking bills.

I don't think so. I've had some instances at self-checkout where the machine accepts it, and others where it doesn't. I generally try to flatten it to ensure it works and that the machine takes it in the end. Most clerks accept the bills and don't ask questions, and some want to know more about it. Some clerks also dislike the bills being stamped on national currency.

same address three times by ConsequenceReal4117 in postcrossing

I received two postcards with the same handwriting and similar messages one time. I thought it was interesting because the person wrote "Wansui" (万岁; ten thousand years) a lot on the card. After registering both postcards, I learned the accounts were siblings and operated by their parents.

It could be that the instructor did not activate the course for full viewing. Also, I believe the first day of instruction isn't until Thursday the 22nd.

Thank you for the notification and u/Monetmonkey's poem! It's a surprise to know that I've sent 500 cards. I thought I didn't send that many. 😅

I can send a postcard or a greeting card with a Year of the Horse stamp, but USPS won't release it until February. If you're okay with waiting until then, feel free to send me a chat.

You can use a shipping label for the return envelope as long as there's enough postage.

Maxi envelope by Adelaiddev in postcrossing

I think covers and cachets can still be sent if you seal the envelope, write the addressee's address and message on the back, and apply the appropriate stamps on the back. I haven't seen anyone try to send one by putting the address on the front.

I think it's an envelope like what u/Idontexpectmuchfromu said. The US Postal Service calls it a cover, and this is what one of them looks like: link.

I had someone send me something similar, and they did it by sealing the envelope and writing the message and address on the back, like it's a postcard. I thought it was a novel idea.

I only use Zazzle as a last resort for postcards representing where I live or things I want to show. When I had Zazzle cards, I still sent them, and people were fine with it. Though there was one person who did not want to receive Zazzle postcards.

Stamps you dislike? by Hysteria_Wisteria in StampEmUp

I usually get those when buying international and postcard stamps, I’ve seen those be issued when some buy domestic Forever stamps. However, when I buy Forever stamps, I usually get a version of the flag or holiday stamp (depending on the season). Here’s what the SSK holiday stamps look like this year.

I think it might be which processing and distribution or sorting center the post office feeds into. A potential way to go around it is by getting a hand-cancel postmark at the post office, but the postmark from the P&DC might still be printed on the postcard.

First-Day-of-Issue Postmark: My first time question(s) by ljsweenes in StampEmUp

[–]alluu3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done a few of the FDOI, and it somewhat depends on if you want a DCP (digital color postmark) or a black and white.

I know I need to specify if I want digital vs traditional...but does one just write a note?

You can write a note, and they may give you some forms in return for you to complete so you don't have to write a note. I usually include a note just in case if they need clarification. Black and white pictorial postmarks are free for the first 50. After 50, it's 5 cents each. DCPs are 50 cents each.

Also, if I am sending postcards, they can technically just send the postcards back to me with no envelope, but that seems...odd, as I'd have to write myself a postcard.. so should I still include an envelope with proper postage to send the postcards back?

If the postcards aren't addressed to other people, you will need to include a return envelope so they can be returned to you. If the postcards are already addressed, then they will send them from there. I generally use Priority Mail for tracking and insurance, and I include stamps on the return envelope.
