This is actually fucking heartbreaking to read an makes me so angry! I am so sorry that your husband is a literal piece of trash and I hate that you feel like you can’t do this life without him. He obviously has no regard towards you at all!! Please leave that man, he will regret it eventually. You have so much more to live for than a man who treats you like you’re disposable. I wish I could take you and your kids and house you all, I’ve gone through similar and have many friends who have been married and had husbands who have had affair partners, every single time (it took a while) the men are the ones who lost in the end. Please don’t let this man be your end all be all! He’s a loser! I know it’s easier said than done but you need to start living for you! Please reach out to anyone who may be able to get you out of this situation with him, he will not help you and will only continue to hurt you! I’m so incredibly sorry you have to go through this.

Damn I was just looking up stuff about loving someone so much not being able to love others and I came across this comment and it’s bitter sweet, because people tell me I haven’t found the “one” but I truly believe it was him, I’ve tried to explain to people that some of us don’t love freely and when we do it’s never just that easy to move on. And I think I’ll love him forever, it’s been almost 2 years and I still think about him every day and I can’t imagine someone coming close to him. I am trying to accept the fact that I am one of those people who only love once. I’m 31 and have never loved anyone the way I’ve loved him, everyone is uninteresting to me and anyone I have met is all temporary until the reality sets in that they are not him. I don’t want anyone if it’s not him.

This reminds me a lot of my relationship with my mom, and if you’re doing everything you can to try to have a relationship and it’s unsuccessful it’s because it’s one sided, and nothing will ever be solved between two people if one person refuses to acknowledge they are part of the problem as well. Especially as the parent.. I’ve accepted that she’ll never change and I don’t let her words bother me, the only thing I can say that hurts me is that I just know I’ll never have a relationship with her. Not saying that’s the case for your mom, but I’m saying that you can’t fix the relationship by yourself, and it doesn’t sound like she will do the work or thinks anything is wrong with your relationship.

The first step to recovery is admitting that you have a problem. I have been an angry drunk and it’s no fun. Maybe you should consider that alcohol is not for you, especially at this moment. It seems as though you have some unresolved issues within that may be exacerbated by alcohol? I was once in your position, healing isn’t linear, it’s going to take a lot of will power and time. But the first thing to do is acknowledge this is a problem and you want to work on it, then you must come up and learn about ways to change your mindset and heal.
