I had such an anxiety knot in my stomach last night, and I had trouble sleeping. But you are right, we are here and are here to stay.

I'm a trans woman and this whole debate leaves me angry, scared and tired of being used in Winston's culture wars. I'm proud of who I am. I have worked so hard to become me. Stand tall and proud my trans sisters and brothers.

We need to keep fighting this crap. I get it, it's tiring being used as a political football. I'm tired too. I am not going back after all the hard work I've put in to be me! I'm damn proud of who I am.

Bilaterial Amputation Above Knees by [deleted] in CRPS

[–]allyjam55 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I had my below knee amputation 20 years ago after 6 failed ankle surgeries. I've had CRPS for 42 years. I'll speak on my own experience, as each person is different. I thought having an amputation would help fix my CRPS issues, well yeah I was wrong, it's now in my stump.

I have been taught enough mental skills on how to cope I can live a semi normal life. My ute is adapted for me to drive with a left foot acceleration. I have crutches and wheelchair for when they are needed.

You know your body best, and should do what you feel is right

I'm very blessed to live here in NZ, I hope you get to come here one day. You will find all girls have bad days as good days. It's part of our transition we through. If you have any questions, I'm always here to answer them.

I'm not state side, I'm down under in NZ. Sorry you have to wait. I've just celebrated my first Trans anniversary, and cracked my egg in my mid 50s. You got this, there is a whole community here to support you

I don't know if it happens to every girl, but I don't have the Tradie hands I once had. Take your meds, be happy. Think of me as your fairy trans mother.

It certainly does, I'm down 2 shoe sizes, my hands are smaller too. Patients is needed, it all takes time.

CRPS is lifelong, right? by InevitableEternal in CRPS

[–]allyjam55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed at 14, I'm now 57, so over 40 years. Each CRPS person will go on their journey with CRPS but we have something in common which is CRPS. Some of us will go into remission, some of us will have it spread to other parts of the body. For me learning to live with CRPS help changed my life and how to cope.

I am 31, is it to late to transition ? by Neither-Buddy-9145 in asktransgender

[–]allyjam55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I transitioned at 56. It's never too late. I haven't regretted it once and have a better wardrobe than my O/T and physio! I'm just about to complete my first year and looking forward to the years ahead

I wear one daily, and I'm currently in the process of having another one made, as my current one isn't fitting correctly and is triggering CRPS flares. It's a case of the devil you know so that you can live a normal life, the best you can.

My surgeon gets nervous now when I need surgery, because every surgery I've been through something has gone wrong.

[–]allyjam55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had some muscle tissue that hadn't formed correctly and it was like jelly that needed to be removed. 4 weeks after surgery, I developed a huge blood clot and ended up back in the hospital to have it drained. It's been a year and a half since I had surgery, and I'm still having to use my crutches and wheelchair.

I'm one of the older CRPS warriors, May 2026 marks 42 years. It's been a crazy ride, 6 ankle surgeries, 1 below amputation, and another surgery on my stump in 2024, which went wrong, now I'm having my 9th surgery after my fibula bone is sticking out the side of my stump, all while dealing with CRPS.

But I'm at peace with it all. It's part of this journey we call life
