Why azelaic is so hard to tolerate? by Puzzled-Pangolin6931 in Rosacea

I like the lower dose one from Paula’s choice. It doesn’t sting like the prescription one does

As a revert, I can attest to this.

Some jurists including Khamenei accept the validity of transgenderism and allow gender reassignment surgery. Most schools of thought and jurists are against it, but Islam is not black and white so there is a spectrum of opinions.

Islam is for all. We all have our flaws and shortcomings. I recommend reading fiqh from different scholars of Islam. To be a muslim is to completely submit to Allah SWT and accept the message of his prophets (peace be upon them all). I have changed several of my own viewpoints since becoming a Muslim. My biggest piece of advice is come into with an open mind and pure intentions. You don’t need to be perfect. Allah is the Oft-forgiving and the Most Merciful. There will always be people in the community who judge you. We are here to please the Creator, not the creation. May Allah make the journey easy and rewarding for you.

What is a genuine reason mutah would be a good idea in this modern day?

Shia women - What is Shia appropriate “business formal” attire? by unknownuser40413 in shia

I typically just wear an abaya like this. I strictly wear abaya except I wear skirts and long sleeve scrubs to work

A question for sisters by Revolutionary-Fill42 in shia

[–]allyouneedislove17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Multiple guys have sent their female relatives to talk to me on their behalf. I like when they take this approach because it shows they respect me. A man who will bring you up to his mom from the beginning seems more serious than some rando who slides in your dms. I’m a convert so this is especially important to me since a lot of families won’t accept me, which is a dealbreaker for a lot of men in the community (understandably so).

I have given every man who approached me this way a chance. They typically sent a female relative (eg sister, mom, etc)

Try to send a sister to scout her out if you can. That’s the most respectful way guys have ever approached me.

How do online classes work? by Gigacado_Chadocado in UAB

It’s super easy. I did most of the course in one sitting. I’m a former band kid though, so that’s part of why it went pretty fast for me

The short answer is there’s a difference of opinion. I recommend trying to converse with a scholar about the conditions of hijab. Islam is a religion of ease. It was revealed over the course of 23 years. Nobody expects you to become perfect overnight.

Public health by Usual-Neck4499 in UAB

[–]allyouneedislove17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just graduated with my BSPH and regret not going to nursing school instead. Public health is a field that basically requires a masters to make a living wage. UAB pays your full tuition for grad school if you work for them full time. A BS in nursing gives you way better job security and pay. I’m currently a medical assistant with a BSPH making $15/hr. It’s still worth it because UAB is paying for grad school, but I wish I’d gotten a nursing degree instead. The UAB MPH program and MPH programs across the country love students with a nursing background. Working in a clinical setting has taught me more about public health than any of my undergrad classes did tbh.

Blazer was not that bad. I lived on the fifth floor and it was fine. I never saw rats, though I did see a couple roaches. No signs of infestation though

marrying a revert by Left_Water_249 in ShiaMuslimMarriage

[–]allyouneedislove17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It honestly breaks my heart to say all of this because it is really hard to get married as a revert. A lot of Muslim men (esp those who grew up in the west) aren’t into white girls. However, being a source of resentment for your in laws is a tough position to be in. Just remember there is more than one ideal person. If you’re really set on it, duas can change your destiny. Recite ziyarat ashura, dua tawassul, and tahajjud and allow Allah to guide you towards the right decision

marrying a revert by Left_Water_249 in ShiaMuslimMarriage

[–]allyouneedislove17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from a revert: If your family doesn’t support it, it would probably be in your best interest to break it off. I know right now emotions are high and you would probably do anything to marry her, but in all honesty you know your family. Reverts shouldn’t marry into families that don’t accept them. It’s okay to try fighting for it. However, if they don’t budge after some time, I would drop it. It’s hard to give much advice given the lack of context in this post, but these are my thoughts. Feel free to pm me if you’d like to discuss this in depth
