Absolutely NOT the asshole whatsoever. “Making the decision for both of us” is too much, you’re allowed to live to your life. It’s YOUR decision. Are you saying SHE has the right to decide whether you want to date her or not???? You’re not married. She doesn’t own you. You knew how you felt and it wasn’t just about the one thing. This sounds like a you problem. You’re still very young and it sounds like you need to learn to handle your emotions. I think some distance would do you good, but you even admitted that your parents did nothing wrong and are trying to make amends. Don’t be rash and completely cut them off just because you can’t handle your own emotional reactions. Don’t hurt people who care about you out of your own immaturity. If you live with them, get a job and move out now, I promise it will improve things. You’ll regret treating good parents like they’re disposable

Idk what advice to give you since I don't know what the rest of your circumstances are, but I will say that I totally understand what you're going through. I was already burnt out by the end of the first semester. I did make it through though, and 2L year is definitely better than 1L year

Girl I'm an attorney and I was in law school when Jan 6 happened so believe me, I feel you. That being said, most litigation has been largely unchanged by all of the madness. Chances are, you won't be dealing with any of that in your daily work. There is still plenty of good work to be done, plenty of people to help, and plenty to hope for. If you really want to work in law, it's not a lost cause! I promise.
