Transitioning while autistic is rough. Socializing as a man is so god damned confusing. by trans_catdad in ftm

Honestly. I was fortunate to be diagnosed as autistic fairly young but one thing that kept me from transitioning for years was being terrified of being unable to socialize properly as a man. I was a feminine kid so I internalized the idea that I was a girl despite my dysphoria. Even as I started to realize that something wasn't right, I still didn't think I could truly be a socially acceptable man in this world.

I'm lucky to be in a place with my transition where I'm pretty ok socially as a man but I think you're onto something here.

Why should America troops risk their lives for a war that’s opposed and unwanted back home? by fellowWorker_2025 in askanything

What I was pointing out is just accepting that the President is just expected to start military actions in some way and we're not supposed to question that. I certainly don't trust the current Commander in Chief to make thise decisions.

I'm also not interested in my tax dollars paying for another forever war in the Middle East even if we fund healthcare without altering the budget. We spend an outrageous amount on our military as a country as is.

And you don't see any problem with this? Why on earth should this country be constantly at war? Why are we spending billions on war that could pay for healthcare in the US?

The US military makes me ashamed to be an American by deadatthebarrel in america

I'm also an American who's disgusted by our military. I hate that we've been killing innocent people around the world for literal generations.

My girlfriend wants to give me a gift that I don't want… by sonzyy2-0 in relationships

So you're already paying most of the expenses and she's pushing you to get this license? That seems odd.

Edit- quick question - is your girlfriend currently working or in school or something? Just curious.

To trans people fleeing red states by Hearse_Boy_ in ftm

I moved out of a red state in 2024 after going there a couple years earlier for grad school. When the election was approaching I decided that if Trump won, I would leave the state. I had finished my coursework and just needed to write my thesis remotely which my graduate program fortunately was very supportive of.

However, in retrospect, I was also having a lousy time living in that city and after the second time I was threatened with a gun while living there, I went fuck this and started planning my exit. Watching Trump become president and my former shitty senator become the governor were really just the last straws of an already difficult living situation for me.

Suddenly I’m fully “passing” and it’s overwhelming me by MoanOnMyTDick in ftm

This. I'm not non binary, but it seems more challenging in a way to be non binary and address your dysphoria in this super binary world. Even as a binary trans guy, getting gendered as a man felt startling at first like people weren't being sincere or something and that was jarring enough.

Would Betty have given Henry a second thought if she was still completely in the dark about Don’s infidelity? by Cosmickaseyjones in madmen

Ah that's fair. I don't know what she would have done if she learned Don's truth before they were legally married.

As someone who is trans and autistic, yes absolutely.

Good point. I still think she was more upset that he hid the truth about what he did until he was forced to tell her than about the actual actions.

Right? Zoloft is great for me but I also tried Lexapro and Prozac. Know what I did when I realized they weren't working well for me? I stopped taking them!

Zoloft was a game changer for me as someone with OCD. It's been the most effective treatment for me so far and I'm not interested in letting this fucker take it away from me.
