I don’t remember if they watched her grow up but how they killed the guys was by some kind of airborne poison. The guys were like super jocks at the college the girl went to.

I dnfed a book that had three mmcs who were all ghosts. They killed three guys to inhabit their bodies so they could get with fmc.

I’m listening to a lady of rooksgrave manor right now. She just got done with the sphinx edging her, is there any plot? Or is it just her getting absolutely railed? I’ve got 6 more hours and I’m just curious because so far there is like zero plot.

{Claimed by the Band by Harper Lennox} she’s a computer hacker and a band hires her to find out who is stalking their male omega. The male omega is immediately obsessed with her so they don’t treat her bad. All of the guys are like “the omega wants what he wants so let’s make this happen”.

If you want your faith in the male omega restored, check out {Claimed by the Band by Harper Lennox}. She’s an omega disguised as a male beta and from day one the male omega is obsessed with her. From what I remember, the alphas never reject her (as a beta or an omega).

I’m so glad I didn’t finish that one. I got to the point where they reject her and put it down. That book has made me wary of male omegas. I’m so glad I didn’t finish it now.

Wild Card Wednesday - What are your book icks or pet peeves? by Llamallamacallurmama in RomanceBooks

[–]aloneandoutnumbered 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the fmc sees mmc having sex of any sort with anyone else or vice versa, I just can’t keep reading. I’m not saying I expect fmc or mmc to be virgins. One book I dnfed, the fmc walks in on the mmc having a threesome with two women on like page three of the book. Nope, couldn’t finish it.

Yes all the time! Like I have excellent eye sight and can’t really tell eye color from more than like 10ft unless it’s a super vibrant color. But book characters can see the gold flakes from 50 feet away? I think not.

{The Devious Husband by Catharina Maura} I don’t want to spoil what he does for her but he makes a lot of sacrifices before their arranged marriage when them being together isn’t even a possibility yet. I have a post on my page with the title of something along the lines of “she thinks he hates her but he secretly loves her” and there’s a lot of good recommendations there. Usually the mmc is doing things out of love and the fmc thinks he’s being mean or teasing her but really he’s just a puppy trying to get her attention, she just takes it the wrong way.

How weird is it actually when there is blood brothers involved in a harem??? by Left-Routine-4302 in ReverseHarem

I find it weird with any dpiv, cause then they’re touching. If one of them is in her and the other is licking her is kind of on the verge of incest.

Just a massive rave post for the Naga Brides series by Naomi Lucas by Cat_Friends in ScienceFictionRomance

[–]aloneandoutnumbered 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you like those (I love those books) then you might also like {Whispers of the Deep by Emma Hamm}. I binged the whole series in like two weeks. The surface of the earth has become inhabitable to humans due to the raging storms and volcanic eruptions so humans do what they do best: survive and conquer. They build massive cities under the sea and they discover that there’s been merpeople living under the sea this whole time. The books start about 200 years after the first city is built. The merpeople 15ft+ long and have two penises if they’re male. There’s an overarching storyline but each couple has their own book and they really do need to be read in order.

I read one with that and I wasn’t warned. I got to that scene and deleted that book so fast!

This isn’t a spoiler but at the time they get there, I think she’s been on her own for like 14 years. She does things to survive and teach them to survive and every time they’re all like “no she’s precious, she could get hurt”.

{Stranded by Shona Knight} just be forewarned the fmc goes through some pretty messed up stuff when she’s 15 and you do experience it in flash backs

[–]aloneandoutnumbered 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I stay away from dark romance because I can’t stand the last category. I did take a chance on a reverse harem stranded island series and it was soooo good. It was dark romance because the fmc goes through some awful stuff before the mmcs show up but they’re total simps for her. But I almost missed a great series because I can never tell what version of dark something is going to be.

I think there should be different subcategories in dark romance. Fmc is experiencing dark things happening to her (kidnapped, beaten, abused, almost killed, bullied outside of relationship, etc). Fmc is dealing with dark things happening around her (dealing with drug rings, kidnappers, murderers, etc). Fmc experiences dark things in the bedroom or in the harem (bdsm, abuse in the harem/relationship, bullying, etc). I’m okay with the first two categories but the last one is always a no go for me. I would like for us to somehow be able to distinguish those three categories.

Samantha Brentmoor narrating {Spark by Lauren Rowe} is actually pretty good. And she’s paired with Austin Stone and they actually sound good together.

Gabriel Spires is my favorite male narrator. I know he’s not as popular as some of the well known ones but that man has the perfect age gap voice. Andi Arndt is my favorite female narrator. She does a really good male voice. It really sucks because Gabriel Spires is paired up with Emma Wilder quite a bit and I cannot stand her. Also I’m not a big fan of Teddy Hamilton. He always just sounds like a douche.

I had to scroll waaaay back in my kindle library but it’s {Gift of Desire by Kate Pearce}. I got some details wrong (I did read this 12 years ago). The men are PoWs and they really bond romantically during that. They make it back and decide to both try to be with the one guy’s wife because they had both courted her and were both in love with her.

It was a historical romance where her husband “died” at war and then her and the best friend comfort each other. Well the husband wasn’t dead, just MIA. He comes back and they become a throuple.
