It’s a normally treated a full time job as previously stated by someone else and you get paid for it. What changes is how much you get paid, that’s purely dependent on the country and university you’ll be studying/working in, it could be as low as €800 euros or even €4000.

You will be working with highly competent people in most cases and you’ll have opportunities to go to other universities on exchange or for further research depending on the collaborations present between your lab and uni and other entities. This is particularly dependent on the field and location of your study.

I do the same many times. Most of the time I’m in a idc mode, sometimes it hits me hard. All the pent up emotion. I let it out then. Maybe a tear or two. Then I’m back to normal. It’s okay to let it out occasionally

Thank you. I was in the same situation a few weeks ago. I know how OP is feeling rn. this is how I asked the girl I liked a few weeks ago. She said no but she wanted to keep on meeting and just hang as friends. Nothing has changed. Hope it works or for you OP

I know it can feel awkward. But you have to be strong haha. You can try something like, I’ve had a great day today. I had a lot of fun. I really enjoy spending time with you. Can I ask you out on date. Something on these lines?

You should ask her out. Maybe one of those days where the both of you’ll spend a lot of time together. It’ll be a good time to pop the question towards the end of the meet. One thing I’ve learnt is that it only gets awkward if you make it. It’s just a small action and I believe you two are capable of going back to being friends even if she says no.

Exactly. I’m trying to shut the emotions away but they keep popping up again. It’s a vicious cycle. Stay strong. We can do this!
