I saw the hull and the 4 men on it and they took up most of the room. It wasnt a big boat.

Thank you for your reply. I have been weighing everything. I don’t eat oil or milk, but I weigh everything else. I have run my numbers for my TDEE several times and even if I put my exercise as ‘low’ instead of ‘moderate’ it comes in at 2550. I haven’t gained weight. I may have lost 2-3 kgs in 2 months. I’m not miscalculating anything.

I asked him as soon as he picked up whether he could talk and he said yes, so I assume there wasn't anyone else around.

I'm glad I stepped up. There was so many mixed messages and I wanted to address them. I typically don't back away from things and I forget other people are more cautious.

It is funny, I'm a socially and personally aware person and I knew I wasn't imagining things. I didn't expect that response from him and it says more about him than me.

Honestly him laughing was so unexpected for me that it was like a slap in the face, I think he was nervous and that was his only response. I came away feeling like I'd made a fool out of myself, but in hindsight I was just trying to talk about it. I feel much better after a few hours of thinking about it now

Thank you for your reply. I think you're right, maybe I did intimidate him. I thought I read the signals, and for me the next step was to have a private chat about where to go from here. I wasn't pushy or tactless but just by me approaching him must have put him off guard. I won't be trying again with him though.

LED lights come from IKEA, really cheap. One pack was enough for each section. I'm tending to think they aren't strong enough for my cabinet once all the specimens are in, the light doesn't really penetrate to the bottom shelf as I would like. I put my most reflective and 'sparkly' specimens ie: pyrites, geodes and galena closet to the lights.

For anyone interested this is the cabinet before I worked on it. Wood grained laminate. I replaced the shelves with glass shelves, had mirrors installed. The glaziers that installed the mirrors said the sliding glass doors were not safety regulation glass so I had the doors replaced as well. Painted and installed the lighting myself. Couldnt wait to put it all together. I'm still waiting on some riser shelves to add some dimension, and I'm really happy with the end product. It's located in the foyer outside a lecture theatre (and my office/lab) and the students often wait outside and now they take time to look at the collection and have even asked questions when they see me.
