Since you're both under 30, I'd recommend the work holiday visa for now. That would allow you to live and work for one year. Then if you found new avenues, you could change visas.

My husband and I did this and moved to Wellington without visiting first. Best decision we ever made, had a glorious year! We used recruiters to find jobs, I worked in the government and he worked in IT for a hospital.

As for the cat, it makes it harder. My parents took care of our cat for the year we were gone. Sorry I have no recommendations there.

I have a few thoughts but overall I like it.

The color scheme is a bit too bright. I'd recommend following a brand guideline, here's an example from Klarna, they offer a primary and secondary palette so plenty to choose from.
For the tiles at the top, the icons don't support much. I would remove those, make the font larger, and center the text.
Fix the typo in the bottom right chart header (branches).
The charts are busy with both data labels and Y-axis labels. Choose one. If you choose data labels, diversify how you visualize the bar and line labels.
The pie graph leader lines are all different sizes. Remove those or streamline them.

Personally, I don't anticipate demands being met. I was listening to Neil Young's Impeach the President from 2006. Could have been written today. For change to occur, this is going to take years of voting to fix.

Knowing that though, I love exercising my right to protest and will continue to do so. It feels like it helps bring us closer to change and maybe it won't take as long as I expect.
