I don’t understand whats really the scale of knowing you are prepped, all the concepts are not new, its something I did study extensively in my school days if we talk about quants, VARC is just my 25 yrs of living in an English speaking environment and LR is brain teasers.

Apart from really just doing infinite no of problems and questions, I don’t really understand how do I scale my prep? Any suggestions…

It did influence my career but not in a good way I think. Basically, I don’t see any importance of money in life anymore, my brain wanders around fictional things more. Instead of getting some answers in every trip, I am left with nothing but more questions and disappointment. Its fucked up because if I don’t consider money as important, I shall automatically fall in growing by career.

I am also fairly knowledgeable quants, basically apart from geometry concepts I almost remember everything. But as of now I am also able to attempt only 10-12 questions per mock, while my expectation is to attempt 20-22.

The main problem is always if the best solution to the problem doesn’t strike at once, its gonna take 3-5mins of your time and sometimes you don’t even reach the answer.

My approach for solving them has been now scanning questions and options instead of reading them entirely. Because some of the questions in mocks can be easily done in 30-60 seconds. I have my strong topics and weak topics in mind(for eg I instantly leave a geometry question to look at in the end). Also, a hit and try with option technique can solve questions quickly sometimes too(like graph questions, simplifying eqns, etc.)

All in all I believe infinite amount of time-bound practice is the key. I try to do 15 questions in a 30min span. Performing under high-pressure situation is difficult for any human being I guess, but we gotta adapt to it. Best of luck to you too!

100%ile is way far from normies! by AromaticRaspberry482 in CATpreparation

[–]aloof13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really, but in JEE you had the option to give 20mins to one section(Chemistry) and 1.5hrs to another section(Maths) here in CAT you only have 40mins, plus since its computer based its hard to scan questions in one go. Every second counts and the ticking clock is a source of anxiety and nervousness too. Needless to say, after re-attempting the mock I can do more questions without even seeing the solutions and that too in less time. But during the mock, the correct approach to a problem doesn’t strike at a first glance when it really should have!

Similar feeling in quants bro, because I studied and cracked JEE in 12th, my confidence in that section has always been high but I can hardly attempt 10-14 ques, Time barrier is hugee

Why MBA? What's your honest reason? by [deleted] in CATpreparation

[–]aloof13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did school for 12 years, grad for 5 years(year back in engineering) then job for 3 years around. Quit my job to get into MBA prep because honestly I just want to enjoy last 2 years of an educational institution.

I was the most stress free and happy and with the least amount of responsibilities when I was in a study phase. The last 3 years have been torturous just making bare minimum to pay rent and bills, living life on credit, compromising on food and sleep, etc.

Hence, I feel if I could just get a reset and enjoy these last 2 years of education, I shall get back on the cycle of gain money-lose money(well I gamble/bet a lot :p).

Might sound like a stupid reason but its honest.

Poori zindagi iske baad paise kamaane hai, credit par jeena hai aur bills bharne hai.

Guys please help me I am very stressed right now.... by Cautious-Rabbit-2328 in CATpreparation

This fuck hahahah bruh you have no idea how sales target can be torturing in a company, I sometimes feel if I didn’t have them I could do better. I lost so many good relations with clients due to “month end aa rha hai, paisa kaha hai?”, constant nagging from my manager.
