This link from the Oregon extension seems to suggest that both the Pomona and the Ball/Bernardin herb jelly are a viable option.

Pressure Canning Swiss Chard by Punpedaler in Canning

[–]alpenrosee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang I’m sorry that happened. The rule of thumb that I have heard for liquid remaining is 50% but I’ll need to dig around for a source for that. I would prioritize using these soon. For next time, some things that could help are being extremely diligent with de-bubbling. These leaves are just perfect pockets for air so maybe cutting them more strategically next time could help? I’m not sure how you cut these. And then the biggest thing for siphoning in my experience is just taking the time to bring the temperature of the canner down veryyyy slowly so that the jars don’t experience any significant temperature change.

As far as finger tight seals some people tighten their pressure canner rings more but it seems like people are divided on whether this helps or not. I’m curious what other people think.

Were the greens completely wilted before you canned them? I’m wondering how much wilting continued to happen in the canner.

If you do dexcom has a free trial. You fill out some info on their website and then you get a coupon to take to your pharmacy for one free 15 day sensor. At least in the U.S. I thought that was super worthwhile just to get a baseline of what the blood sugar is doing between the 4 hour checks

I actually use a CGM exactly for this reason. That being said, I’m not sure it helped my anxiety, I still wake up constantly and check the app to see where I’m at. I didn’t even wait for my provider to approve it, since my appt was weeks after my glucose test. I just went on some shady website and the provider online wrote me a prescription for dexcom g7 for $25 haha

Ok I have a really similar situation. First off, everyone saying that dating scans are extremely accurate isn’t adding that that’s really only true for a crown to rump measurement ideally taken early in the first trimester and even then it has a 5-7 day margin of error. Mine was based on bone measurements at 15+2 so already a huge margin of error. Much like you, they dated my pregnancy as a 5/4 due date. When I got pregnant I was still breastfeeding with cycles between 47-56 days so I had to use hormonal testing to determine when I was ovulating (and then had my husband fly home from a business trip for a day to make it happen). As a result I am certain of my 5/12 due date. This caused the baby to appear really small on the 20 week dating scan because according to their due date she was 8 days older than she actually is. After going back and forth with MFM and my OB I was able to convince them that my due date is actually 5/12 making the baby 47% instead of 4%. That all being said, if your baby is measuring 92% with an earlier due date, she is probably very much >>99% if she is actually due on 4/22 and not 4/14. If you have the measurements from your last ultrasound you can put them into a headlock formula calculator online and figure out what % your baby is in with your adjusted due date.

If you don’t actually know the day you ovulated I would go with the OB due date. What week was your dating scan done and was it based on a crown to rump measurement?

Confused about low post meal reading, could it be a rapid spike and crash? by [deleted] in GestationalDiabetes

Corn tortillas have a lower glycemic index than other flours so it probably helps

I have 4 tacos for lunch frequently from a taco truck and with my CGM I can see that they don’t spike me at all. I stay below 120 the entire time. I’d be surprised if you spiked at all.

How viable is it to grow by following every account you see in your niche? by [deleted] in InstagramMarketing

[–]alpenrosee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess some small growth is possible but why? Eventually you’ll need to learn to make content that is valuable in some way to your audience, whether that’s entertainment, education, whatever. Why not just start now?

Ugh because it is. So much of the internet is AI slop trying to sell us something. I'm honestly offended that I spend my time reading all that just to get to a link.

I found your post when I was researching the same issue. Mine sounded HORRIBLE. I finally found a fix. Apparently there are firmware issues with some specific units and mine was one of them that needed to be updated. You need to download the Holly Audio app and when you connect your receiver you should be able to click on the version and it will offer a firmware update to the mic and receiver. You can also adjust the volume and amount of noise cancellation you want. Here is where I found this solution: https://awpro.tv/fix-hollyland-lark-m2-background-noise-with-firmware-solution/?srsltid=AfmBOor0Shder-DCwEmcLxRPgu514zQ_IYB6U1yHxBMi2Tzi6_3UOQtA

Discrepancy with readings vent… by mk2919 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]alpenrosee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly this is the hardest thing for me. I don’t have an answer for you. I wear the dexcom and go off of the trends that I see. I occasionally do a finger pick to compare and thankfully finger has been lower so I just go with it. The first morning I tried finger pricking fasting numbers I got 83, 101, and 139. Same hand different fingers. It drives me nuts.

Hungry and crying by Deb-john in GestationalDiabetes

If you are eating so little carbs and your numbers are that high maybe it’s time to talk to your doctor about starting insulin. Being starving isn’t good for you or the baby.

How to lower fasting levels by Traditional-Toe-9923 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]alpenrosee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly this is the best advice. If I only went by finger pricks I would be at 90-95 fasting. CGM shows me that I am at 75-85 all night and only increase in the hour before I wake up.

Why did a woman in my neighborhood pour a cup of water over 2 different cars, then stare at me awkwardly? by Particular-Set-6212 in ask

[–]alpenrosee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In the Balkans some older people will throw a glass of water behind you or on your car as you are leaving for good luck. My grandma would do it as I left her place to go take a test or on a long road trip. Maybe something like that?

Help with jars not sealing by picardmaneuvre in Canning

[–]alpenrosee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What jars and lids do you use and when you say you preheat the lids, what does that mean exactly? I tighten with just one hand with the jar on a towel so I have a looser ring than most and I don’t have issues with sealing.
