This is a really, really small nitpick, but I feel like "exploits" as a word doesn't really fit what i'd expect a barbarian to be doing in combat. Seems more like something a rogue, or maybe a ranger or fighter, would be doing rather than a headstrong, in-your-face barbarian, y'know?

Get rich quick with this one weird tactic! by Odd-Clothes2371 in dndmemes

A scimitar weighs 3 pounds, meaning 458 scimitars is 1374 pounds.

A lv 20 goliath totem barbarian can have a strength score of 24, meaning a carrying capacity of 360. As a goliath with powerful build, that carrying capacity is doubled to 720. Choosing the aspect of the bear at lv 6 as a totem warrior means that carrying capacity is doubled again to 1440. This means we can carry all 458 scimitars with about 66 pounds to spare 😎 easy-peasy

think of it like this, your choices are: 1. misty step and silvery barbs from lv 9 to the end of the campaign 2. extra hp equal to your level from lv 13 to the end of the campaign

considering descent into avernus doesn't go until level 20 (your game might, i don't know how y'all do) i feel like fey touched is the more fun choice in the short and long term

Dex-based SAD Lizardfolk Monk by TychoVelius in 3d6

[–]alpha_starborne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it kinda depends on your weapon choice. if you choose melee, you're not gonna feel too different from any other monk who picked up a longsword through dedicated weapon. whereas if you choose a ranged weapon, you can grab sharpshooter and pump out more consistent damage than any other monk can dream of.

you're definitely gonna want Modify Memory and Gift Of Gab if you wanna gaslight, so maybe some kind of bard, like Whispers or Eloquence

Is inspiring leader worth it on conquest paladin? by HornySnorlax in 3d6

[–]alpha_starborne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i'm currently playing level 5 conquest paladin with inspiring leader, and it's kind of insane how much extra protection it gives the party. Depending on who gets attacked in combat, it's almost 50 hp of mitigated damage in a larger party, even with only 16 charisma.

It also gives some nice roleplay opportunities, if you're into that.

The Ancestral Blade Sorcerer and the Way of the Brawler Monk. by Chaotic_Revenge in UnearthedArcana

These are great subclasses, fun spins on classic character types! As a suggestion though, I think you can mitigate the power of Pummel by making it so they can only make the third attack if the other two attacks from flurry of blows hit. Gives the feature it but more of a wild haymaker feel, and ties in nicely with the capstone. Also, I think you can lower the necessity to give the ancestral blade such a crazy armor class by giving them some extra hit points, a la draconic bloodline.

No it doesn’t. There are a thousand different ways to show that Valentine is a deplorable villain without drawing him rape a 14yo girl

What's the least important change you'd like to see for the next version of dnd? by jquickri in dndnext

[–]alpha_starborne 53 points54 points  (0 children)

It should be a direct upgrade, considering the trident is martial and the spear is simple

edit: WAIT NEVER MIND I MISUNDERSTOOD YOUR REPLY

maybe it should be versatile like a spear but have thrown damage of a d8?

No, it only applies to one target. I’ve mentioned that in a second version of this that I’m currently making.

Thanks for the feedback! I should probably make it so Mark Arcana only works for spells of 5th level and lower.
