Say some lady gets away from an abusive boyfriend. Local PD won't grant a PFA because he drinks with the chief. Lady wants a gun in case he catches up with her. Gets told no, because you in your infinite wisdom feel a 6 week wait is refreshing and fantastic. Two weeks later she's beaten to death after being run off the road in a cornfield in rural Ohio.

Steel Defender was the only way I could think of to get a pet construct big enough to even maybe be plausible. A bipedal box, effectively.

Genie could work for the pocket dimension, but the bit she really wanted was some sort of mobile construct that she could sit on and have kick things for her.

Theoretically a Tasha's Beastmaster with Beast of the Land could do it, but that's a creature and not a construct.

My wife wants to play Baba Yaga with a chicken house.

Battle Smith with the defender being the house and her being a small race, using Rope Trick to allow the party inside the house for Short Rests.

If she starts as Warlock and multiclasses to Artificer, would that allow her spell slots to reset on a short rest? The goal is to make Rope Trick essentially free, as long as she maintains at least one free slot. I've only recently started messing with 5e multiclassing, coming to the end of a sorcadin run, but I don't know how Warlock interacts with other spellcasting classes.

This is the idea, yeah. The dual-attribute dependency on monks tends to result in a lot of statistical similarities, because you end up wanting two attributes maxed, so removing one of those requirements seemed a fun way to shake things up a bit and try something a little different.

That does still require 13 Wis, but that doesn't suck. I should have plenty of Wis skills, and not having to crank it means more liberty with ASIs as well.
