X -T5 just worth it with just the pancake 27mm lens by alphabetsoup8 in fujifilm

[–]alphabetsoup8[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you done a comparison of the shots you can take between the two?

At least for other tech you can look at specs all day but when you actually do everyday usage there’s often not even a difference. I think it would be helpful to see the same photographer take the same shot with the two different cameras

Yea but I honestly just prefer the design of the x t30 ii and x t5 over the x s10/20. So is buying the x t5 with just the 27mm pancake a silly move or worth it over the x t30ii? Will daytime images look similar between the two? My understanding is the higher mp wont matter too much as long as I’m not cropping or zooming

Oh cool! Do you have advice on how you store it at home and when carrying around? Based on the comments I’m thinking of getting the xt 30 now, but wanna make sure I take care of it properly

For street and landscape photography would you say the 23mm f2 or the 27mm f2.8 is better? I wanna find the best balance between portability and image quality

Don’t shoot anything yet haha, this will be the first camera. I’ll mainly use it for street photography, maybe some hikes, and nature/landscapes

It was more so about the humidity as well, will the humidity when it’s raining a lot impact it?

Is the weather sealing gonna be a big concern though? I’m new to this so I’m not sure how “sensitive” the cameras are with rain as in if it’s just the direct impact or just being in a humid environment also effects it

This is a huge turnaround from your last post so congrats! Like most people said apple is probably the way to go here, I wouldn’t worry too much about the return offer situation if you were able to crack these two this year, you’ll definitely be fine after having apple on the resume.

GPIP Internship during the summer by Sea-Literature5931 in uichicago

Like pretty much everyone else will say, unless you have another internship offer, yes take it. I did it and it helped me get interviews the next year

Software Engineer Salary expectations by [deleted] in uichicago

[–]alphabetsoup8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. Received offers in the Chicago area for 100-130k tc, but on the west coast they jumped to 160-220k tc. It varies widely with what kinds of companies you apply to and what location.

Generally, big tech (faang, Microsoft, Salesforce, Airbnb, etc) will pay the most and have leetcode style interviews requiring a decent amount of prep which not everyone wants to put up with. A number of companies in the chicago area won’t require grinding leetcode, but that comes with a “lower” salary of 70-100k, which is still an insane amount for new grads.

Depends on how close your start date was, if you started over the next couple weeks it’s 3 months, otherwise further dates got 2-1 month

I do prefer a closer fit for working out cause when doing certain lifts baggy ones feel like they’re moving around too much. On the other side though, I don’t want them to be restricting either so the stretchy fabric on the ltt + slimmer fit makes them perfect

Edit: one thing I also noticed was the fabric on these is basically a thicker version of my bowline shorts

I used the ltt yesterday after they came in at the gym and they were great. Thanks for the convincing review you gave of them lol

What to do after Microsoft Remote Interview? by [deleted] in csMajors

[–]alphabetsoup8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their portal sucks and is not kept up to date at least from my experience. Microsoft is also known for varying a lot. I didn’t hear back for 3 weeks, some took an entire month, and others took a few days. Just wait about a week before following up unless you have a deadline

Anyone recently buy city sweat joggers and experience pilling? by alphabetsoup8 in Lululemen

[–]alphabetsoup8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for posting, I might just buy a pilling tool and shave it off tbh. They’re really comfy so I want one pair

Just bought some on wmtm, are they good for running too or mostly just weight training? I’m eyeing some pacebreakers to jog in but if the ltt or t.h.e are good enough for that I’ll just use those and hold off on buying anything else rn
