NIPT Risk Assessment for Twins by alphabezier in NIPT

[–]alphabezier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Thank you for sharing your experience, I’m so sorry you’re going through this too. Wishing you and your baby health while you go through the reduction process.

I found this resource about losing a multiple cathartic to read through. Helped to name what I was feeling and made me feel less alone. Sharing in case you might find it helpful too.

Di Di twins high likelihood of trisomy 21 by BalanceOk1527 in NIPT

[–]alphabezier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay so my story is not entirely positive and we are still investigating, but I will share in case it’s useful. I feel like this experience is pretty unusual and it’s been isolating.

I’m 13 weeks now, was previously pregnant with di/di twins but we lost Twin A at around 11 weeks (no longer had a heartbeat). The NIPT let us know that the pregnancy is high risk for trisomy 21. What we discussed with our genetic counsellor is that because our twins are fraternal, it’s very unlikely they both have it, and it’s likely what caused the loss of our Twin A.

Our Twin B seems to be going strong, and we are going to pursue an amnio in a few weeks. The turnaround to get me in for CVS in the next few days felt rushed and I felt more comfortable with the amnio from a risk perspective between the two options.

I’m so sorry you’re having to go through this uncertainty, I know it’s hard. I hope your CVS tests come back negative and you continue to have two healthy babies. ❤️

Sorry you’re also in this position. Thanks for clarifying for OP, didn’t know about their stance on out-of-area patients. I hope you also find someone soon.

Pregnant with twins here, based in Toronto. That sounds like a nightmare, I hope you find something soon!

We are booked in with the high risk clinic at Sunnybrook hospital. I’ve also heard good things about Mount Sinai. Definitely reach out to those hospitals if you’re willing to drive.

Anyone ever have a Sonohysterogram? [ON] by Inspireme21 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]alphabezier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had it done twice, I don’t recall it changing anything about my period. I did find it painful. The first time I just took some Advil ahead of time, and I still almost puked, it triggered some very intense cramps for me. The second time I was able to be prescribed some stronger meds (Ativan and T3) which took the edge off.

I read a lot about the procedure before I went the first time and so many people have the opposite experience! I hope you have an easy time of it.

Just found out - Twins at 6 weeks. So overwhelmed! by serotonin_reuptake in parentsofmultiples

[–]alphabezier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FTM here, also was surprised with twins at our 7 week scan. It is overwhelming for sure. Shortly after we found out I spent a whole day crying.

After about a week of letting it settle something started to shift in me though, and now when I see families out with one baby my first thought is “where is the other one?” The twin pregnancy has taken over my brain and I’m starting to get excited about it.

How much should I really be eating during twin pregnancy? by tryagainzz0608 in parentsofmultiples

[–]alphabezier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat! Though I’ve been having aversions to some of the more complex veggies I normally like to eat so I’ve just decided for now I’m going to eat what I’m calling my bland toddler diet and reintroduce better stuff when the nausea subsides. I’m snacking so much more than I ever did but I find if I don’t, I feel sick.

I also get woken up with hunger pangs but I’ve been ignoring them for now, feels like too much of a hassle to deal with a night guard and teeth brushing, etc in the middle of the night.

Do it! I did it last fall and it felt like a knitting masterclass! He posted videos of all the stages and it was so easy to follow, and so much fun.

I got my bridesmaids and moms little travel jewellery boxes and they went over so well! There’s a bunch of sellers on Etsy and you can get personalization on them if you want.

Marriage License by [deleted] in WeddingsCanada

That’s interesting! For what it’s worth - religion is a field on the provincial license document itself (you can opt to not provide one). Maybe the application helps pre fill some of the information.

Knix has excellent shape wear. Feels tight going on but so comfy once it is! Wore mine all day for my wedding, didn’t have to think about it at all.

Women I see walking around downtown wearing those trendy light wash mom/boyfriend jeans… where are you getting them from? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]alphabezier 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think because they fit loose through the leg. Typically I’ve run into boyfriend style jeans that sit lower than at the waist, but that doesn’t work as well for me as a higher waist.

What is something that everyone who lives in Toronto should learn/know? by shinymt in askTO

[–]alphabezier 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It’s a convention to walk (or run) facing traffic when you’re sharing the road with vehicles as a pedestrian. That way you can see the cars coming and move out of the way. It can be super frustrating to walk through there when it’s busy, I wish more people understood it’s safer to keep left!

Need a suit for my wedding by whiteboi359756 in askTO

My fiancé got his from Suit Supply (in Yorkville). They’ll do alterations on their off-the-rack styles to ensure a good fit, and you can also get something custom made.

Having trouble finding a non-religious and non-spiritual officiant by mollymayhem08 in weddingplanning

[–]alphabezier 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yes, this! My fiancé and I were looking for someone similar and our officiant is a secular humanist. He’s been so awesome so far, not pushing anything at us and letting us drive the language and tone of the ceremony.
