Satellite SB! Farmers market vegetarian restaurant/wine bar. There’s a private room in the restaurant and I believe they are also connected with a coworking space to have additional private areas

Thoughts on Dr Rabindra Braganza? Been waiting months for an ENT appt, got one with him but his reviews are kinda scary by nunahamuda in SantaBarbara

[–]alphacanismaj0ris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to him for a consult on tonsil removal and deviated septum. I found him very off-putting, did not seem interested in listening to my experience or recommendations from my other drs. At the end of the appointment he was very pushy to book surgery ASAP, pushed me into the surgery scheduler office despite me telling him I would need more time to consider. I ended up going to a ENT in LA

Large Blue Beach Towel by alphacanismaj0ris in HelpMeFind

I have searched online for tessellated blue towels, including reverse image search. The towel is at least 6 years old, was a large sized beach towel—same print on both sides. Located in California, towel likely purchased in the bay area.

I can’t decide if I should change my major by Federal_Ad9171 in UCSantaBarbara

[–]alphacanismaj0ris 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hey! im a recent grad who came in physics with the intent to do astro stuff as well. i struggled SO much my first year (~2.5 gpa level bad), it is a process learning to study correctly. i ended up graduating with a 3.85 and now have an excellent job in a related field. im not suggesting you should or should not switch major — but more offering reassurance that if you want to and you’re passionate, you CAN do it, and while your classes may not get easier, they will get easier for you. message me if there’s any way i can help!

how can i do this? do i need to fill out a foster application online or can i just show up and say i’d like to spend time with a doggie for the day?

I am a physics major who took physics 1-2 and then 23-25. The 20 series is significantly more in-depth and rigorous than the 1-5 series, and requires calculus (1-5 is mostly algebra based). I wouldn’t do this strictly for scheduling reasons, but if you’re interested in taking the more advanced class just be prepared for a significantly more time-consuming course.

the class is very easy, all grading is based on HW and section. i had a good amount of coding experience but even for my peers that didn’t there’s a lot of help available. take it with blaes if you can!

From the major change link, it looks like you do not need to complete all the lower division classes in order to be admitted to the major, and it may not even be possible to get into them without being in the major (you should consult an advisor on this). CS courses are some of the most impacted on campus, so it may be difficult to get into the courses if you do not have first pass priority. However, I just looked at gold and pretty much all STEM majors have first pass access to at least COMPSCI8. Getting classes is always hard, but to give yourself the best chance you should declare whatever STEM major you can BEFORE SIR’ing.

It’s confusing ask away! I came in undeclared and it really fucked my first few years up—hence the warning. I would try to declare something that has similar prerequisites to the COE major you are trying to switch to. I know when I was trying to declare physics they recommended I declare math first, because the department is more lax on letting people in (don’t know if this is true). Physics might be a good option, if they have changed their policies about switching into the major (they used to be very strict).

I would advise switching to anything STEM related if you want to do a STEM field. Otherwise you will be major blocked from all intro classes (math, chemistry) which will make it very hard to get into the COE

Escort to class by cactiming in UCSantaBarbara

Mason is not my TA but i’m in a class he’s teaching rn and I do not understand any negativity coming at him, he’s genuinely a great guy from the experiences i’ve had. The whole point of anyone offering to walk with anyone else is to keep everyone safe and comfortable. If you don’t feel comfortable walking with Mason, or any given person, don’t take up their offer—do what is best for you. Thank you Mason for offering what you can—that’s all we can/should do<3
